Cosplay is one thing, but when someone does it because they wish they were opposite gender, it becomes pathetic.

Why is it pathetic?
If they feel like they belong in another group, isn't it natural to try to get as close to that group as possible?
If they feel like a woman inside, for example, why is it pathetic to try to look like an woman on the outside too?

I have never meet a person before who sees a lesbian in "male clothes" and think that se it's "pathetic". Isn't the same thing?

Problem? It's really only in the big cities like LA and SF though. I live in the valley, and I really don't see that many people crossdressing. Some teenage guys wear skinny jeans and tight shirts, but that's pretty much it. Not like I mind either way though; it never bothered me. :/

You can't be serious.. NATURAL is what they are born as. So, yes, I find it pathetic that they wish be be what they are not. Arguing the matter will not help. Just accept that this is my opinion and get over it.

There is always a more dominate side no matter what organs a person is born with. I believe that decides gender in the rarer occasions you are mentioning. I will say again..

A genetic man is a man that is born with a male body and has the male identity as his sex identity. But someone who feels like belong to the wrong sex doesn't have those two things. So just saying that someone belongs to a certain sex even if they don't feel like one is little hard to do. If you look like a man, but the body screams that you are a woman. You feel like a woman and you feel terrible not looking like one, I don't see why it's pathetic trying to make yourself feel better.
