To whoever neg rep'd me for being "insulting", you are a weeαboo as well.
Weeαboo.
People will always find a way to demonize or belittle people who enjoy things that are considered outside of the mainstream. However, some people become more and more obsessed with...whatever their fixation is...until a weeeeeeaaaboooo is born. Obvious, I know, but it's late, I'm tired, and I feel like adding my 4 cents adjusted for inflation.
I'd say it's the same as the emos or the goths - they become outcasts because of their interests, therefore they dive even further into their interests until the have tunnel vision focused directly on that interest.
I get lots of reactions in my area because I listen to "devil music". Therefore I must be suicidal, a satanist, evil, into witchcraft, etc etc. Same basic idea - you're different from them, so they think up a way to make you an outsider and other.
Other = enemy.
And sometimes it's just because they don't know you, or don't want to know you. And other times, it's because you're a douche that draws a tri-force on your hands before tests in class, and is obsessed with DBZ, and can only talk about Vegeta and Piccolo, and how hot you think Android 18 is. I knew this person. I never called him a beawoo, I just figured he was a douche.
I know a anime fan, he always talked about either Naruto or Yugioh, when I sat with him and my other friend in high school I could never get in a word because he just kept blabbing on about it, I didn't care much for either. It was every single day too. I mean really, you'd think you'd get bored talking about "lol did u see jaden's duel,"
It looks like everyone in that tumblr group enjoys anime, just not those who freak out about it. Many of the stories take place at cons. Seriously, would you like it if someone came up and groped you because they are trying to be in character?
I have no problem talking about anime, I really like watching it. But let's face it, anime fans exist and are annoying as heck.
Dash it all, no shitstorm. Oh well, my work here is done. C:
Now I have read this thread but honestly, I don't get it. What is a weeeboo? Is it someone who is over obsessive with anime?
I know my english is not the best around but still... when reading this thread it almost looks like a weeboo is someone who likes animes and just the fact of liking anime and thus being an anime fan is a bad thing? But what is wrong with liking anime? Don't we, well almost all in here, like anime and that's the reason why we all are members in here?
Can someone explain the term "weeeboo" for me - I tried to find an explantion on the internet but couldn't find one.
I guess it's someone who is over obsessive, but as I mentioned im not sure.
Well then you have to forgive me, but I can't see any difference between someone from Japan and someone from China.
In the same way I can't see a clear difference between someone from Denmark and someone from Germany.
Maybe Im just stupid.

Oh my god, the wea-boos I found when I went to Clearwater last year for a BlazBlue/Naruto Revolution 3/SSBB tournament.
All the negative stuff I can say about them--like I wasn't the only one bothered by them. They are so unhygienic.
Ah... now I think I understand.
You text said more then thousands of pictures! ^_^
So it was someone over obsessive, I see.
But you know, what's actually so wrong with liking another culture so much? Would all this hatered be against a... oh I don't know... let's say someone from Korea who wish he would've been born in Africa, because he loves that culture so much. So he collects alot of African decoration and such; would you guys have felt the same way towards him? As an example, because it seems so wrong for a person, especially a white person, to love the asian culture and getting over-the-top with it. (?).
I don't really see the problem in that someone likes another culture. Maybe it can get over-the-top, yes, but what's the huge issue with that anyway? If it's annoying, why not just ignore it?
I have never meet anyone like that obsessive though. Are they really that common?
If I meet someone like that I don't think I would hate them or something like that, maybe laugh alittle inside if I saw a high school student walk around with a Naruto headband on him [like I think someone mentioned before?] but I think that would've also been about it.
Why all this hatered? Have you meet them to much and to many times? lol.
All this is very new to me, that's why I ask these questions.
And here I though that an Otaku was someone over obessive aswell, but judging from that picture it doesn't seem like that at all?
That "otaku" seems rather calm and rational to me. *scratches head*

The difference in that is it's not particularly the "culture" of the country [japan] they are obsessing over. Actually if you were to quiz most on the history of japan and it's culture they wouldn't be able to answer anything. It's just more along the lines of false obsessive claims that actually disgrace the culture thus bringing about some strong annoyance. It's more like they are obsessing with the anime version of a culture rather than the actual culture
where as a korean actually becoming really interested in an african culture and taking the proper time to learn and study it fully to be able to savior what they like about it. Not just watch some cartoon/animation and be through the roof unneededly obsessed.

If you're a tournament go-er, I am pretty sure everyone hates being around them. I already stated one reason, and they are weird as hell...everyone was wearing casual clothing and then there was two guys dressing as Naruto and the other one as Ragna, and they look so unhygienic and it's not even supposed a con either to be cosplaying.
So they are obessive over some certain shows from that country?
But where exactly does an "normal" anime fan becoming an weeboo?
What does "weeboo" mean btw?
Don't know if it's the same thing but alot alot alot of people loves vikings and I see pictures of vikings, and people dressed up as vikings, often but almost all the time there is so many things wrong with those "vikings". Example: Vikings didn't had horns on their helmets.
But I dont get annoyed about it, doesn't know it it's the same thing as weeebooo and japan though....
Why did they came dressed as that then?

Weaaboos are just weird like that. You can't really say anything else than call them over-obsessed. And what also makes them weabooos they entered as "Super Sugoi <3" yes with the "<3" and the other one I don't remember.
The image I posted shows pretty much how weabooos act. With all those emoticons and saying Japanese words on their sentences, like @blueangel06661 explained.
anime fans technically are not ignorant. They are just hardcore fans, lest we forget 'TWIHARDS' or 'BEILIBERS.' Go to an regular sporting event, and you'll find plenty of lunatics there rooting (and killing) for their favorite teams. I mean, God, those people sometimes.
Still, that picture looks more like any other 14yeard old kid to me.
If we are talking about the grammar and all the "emotions" I mean.
Besides, I use alot of "<3" and "^^" when writing in here... but I don't feel like a over-obsessed animefan.
Anime fan sure, but not over-obsessive... This new thing / word is confusing me! Specially since you all seem to have so many feelings toward it and Im not even sure I understand or know what you all are talking about. When I tried to search for it - the word anime fan - on google it only showed me a fat man in a Sailor Moon outfit and that one didn't helped me so much at all, it just seemed... wrong.
So a anime fan is just like a hardcore fan, but a fan of anime?
That's it?

It's a very weird and creepy version of an anime fan.
Like we are anime fans. Like it and stuff. Maybe know a thing or two about japan. But we're not crazy. We know we're whatever race we are and not japanese.

Weabooo = Wannabe Japanese.
Better now? But that's part of being a weabooo though.
While I have never personally used that term, I am annoyed by a lot of the anime/manga fanbase.
They're not "haters" if they call you that. They're haters if they say "Anime is stupid" or something like that. The people that get labeled that term are pretty much annoying.
Sorry, but adding random Japanese words into your sentences does not make you Japanese (nor does it make you any cooler). It just confuses people. I remember several years ago on a forum long before I watched anime subbed somebody used a Japanese term and I was like "What in the world does that mean?" they responded and I said "Speak English". Even though I know what it means now (well, maybe not. I don't know the language myself) I still stand by that. There's no reason to add those words to your sentences, it's just stupid.
Also, Japan is not this amazing place that is perfect and is centered around anime/manga. From what I've heard anime in Japan is considered to be only for kids, and adults that watch it are considered weird (so you'd just be going somewhere that would be worse than the Western world. Enjoy.). Manga is a bit more accepted, but the country still doesn't revolve around it like many anime fans who want to live there for that reason think.
Honestly, I'm happy to be born in the country I live in, and I don't really even have an interest to visit Japan. I watch anime, I read manga, but that's a very small part of Japanese culture. I have so little interest in the country otherwise.
I do not understand the obsession with Asian culture whatsoever. Well, I don't want to sound bad, there. It's fine to accept their culture as another culture in this world (I do) and also enjoy learning about their history, but you know the people I'm thinking of here. They go beyond accepting the culture. lol
~Made by me~
While I do agree with the other things you said, there are some Asian-language-user-haters out there whose primary job is to get their hatred across to you. I once wrote something to my sister in Chinese on Youtube, and some idiot attacked me, because he thought I used an English-Japanese translator and came up with that horrendous Japanese. Yes, wεεaboos who try to stick Japanese into their sentences whenever possible can be annoying, but self-styled wεεaboos-haters/hunters like who don't know any better just make me smh.
