[IMPORTANT] How to "Properly" welcome a new member!

Dear AF'ers! To prevent future mistakes, here's an example of how to properly welcome someone, making the new member feel happy and welcome, and not making the mod angry.

A three-step guide to newcomer-friendly posting.

Step one:
Make sure you make a post of proper length!

The more you say in a welcome post, the more welcomed a new member feels. So don't be silly and make 2 or 3 word posts. Say something nice to them! Or, invite them to be your friends! Offer to show them around the forum a bit, try to explain stuff, or just tell something about your favourite anime to them! Who knows, you might become the bestest of friends?

Examples:

NOT:

Heya, sup.

But:

Hello there, new forum friend! Welcome to our fine community!
Hopefully we'll see eachother often in the forum! We have a chat section, an arcade, a blogging section...
Maybe we could be friends? Feell free to add me! See you around!

Step two:
Don't hestitate to be original, and no need to be serious!

All those welcome posts... How to make one that stands out? Well, for instance, you could use some of the info the OP has provided you with! Or you could make up your very own custom posts, with your own style attached to them!

Example:

Hi, I am Akura and I am new to this forum! I like Bleach, Naruto and I love dogs and pizza. Please be friendly to me and I hope to make a lot of friends!

Howdy! Welcome to the forums, Akura!
I like Naruto as well, do you also like Death Note?
Pizza sounds great, haha. I could eat some any day!
I'm more of a cat person, but all animals are cute in some way, I guess.Have fun in our awesome forum, See you around. ~_^

Step three:
Be a good example towards your new fellow member!

Don't encourage others to break rules, that'd be bad! Try to tell them about your experiences as a member of AF? What's keeping you here? Who are your friends? What should the new member definately try?
They're all open for suggestions!

Example:

Welcome, to our humble forum!
We are a nice community, with nice mods too! They won't bite unless you break the rules, hehe. You can read those here.
I love the anime section around here, because many of my favourite anime are discussed here. And the misc forum has very nice people and fun forum games! Also, you should check out the chat sometime.

I think I messed up. I just welcomed several People by just saying, "Hey there!" Is there a Way to edit those Posts? I am new myself, so I guess I should not be welcoming People. o-o;;;

TBH I'm not sure if people would stay even with a well thought out reply. Yeah, new members adore when members welcome them, but most people welcomed don't stay anyways. Its about them wanting to stay.

You can edit your posts though, on the bottom of your reply you should see an "edit post" option.
