What anime series did you dislike, that everyone else liked?

For me, first of all it's Evangellion Nearly everyone loves it-but I hated it. It wasn't that it didn't make any sense-because it sort of did...kind of...but the whole premise was just retarded in my mind. That and they had these long moments of blank STARE AT NOTHING AND REMAIN IN THE SAME STILL FRAME FOR FIVE MINUTES-which got *really* annoying. That and-I'm sorry...but Ayaname Rei having an orgasm with the universe at the end of it-and leaving Shinji and a mix-up hybrid of Asuka and Rei to be the next "Adam and Eve"...wtf...

Anyway, also Naruto...Fail ninja with a story that's gone on for far too long and spawned one too many fantards for this series. 'x'

i feel the same way. i had heard it was really good, and was very happy when it came to the U.S. however i was very UNhappy after i watched the first episode.

K-ON. That show is cancer upon the anime industry and subculture.

Clannad. It is bland and boring, and most certainly not the emotional roller-coaster everyone makes it out to be.

Death Note. It's not intelligent, it's not well written. I'll admit the author made a good attempt at making it appear as such...but it's not.

Madoka Magica. It's not that I dislike it overall, there were just some elements of it that I really hated. It's more of a love-hate relationship.

Also, Suzumiya. Couldn't even get through the series. I generally like moe too, but I don't need to be hit in the face with it. There's just absolutely no subtlety whatsoever in that show...

Death Note for the reasons Gjall stated. Though I will add I also found it highly predictable. Dragon ball Z since it's stretched out and ends with the characters sounding constipated. Bleach, too much filler and again stretched out. Like the first season and the Bount Saga but after that it was just too much and is an obvious cash cow. Surprised I even managed to get through just over 200 episodes of it. Wont even get into Naruto.

Too many, so I'll just list the top three in each of my "hate" categories.

This I would have to agree. So with my position clearly stated, The top three I disliked:

• Lucky Star
• K-ON
• Kami nomizo Shiru Sekai

...and pretty much anything that relies heavily on making appeals using typical young anime girl characters. I admit I liked Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu when it came out, but once I had seen that, I had seen everything, and anything that came after that became annoyingly boring for me.


Seriously, I need more content and originality. Also, I've lost interest in fanservice long ago lol. I'm no longer the type of anime watcher who gets the most joy from panty shots or jiggling boobs, so anything that mainly uses fanservice to attract audience is a huge turnoff for me. So, I also disliked:

• Love Hina
• Ikkitousen
• Negima

And some shows I just can't stand because certain characters annoy the hell out of me:

• Evangelion (go die, Shinji)
• Kuroshitsuji II (that damn spoiled blond boy)
• Moon Phase (if I hear one more "oniichan!" from Hazuki...)

Bleach I'm kind of on the fence about. The story is actually interesting, the fights are good, there's at least a little depth to most of the characters; unfortunately they go the DragonballZ route and make drawing your sword take fifteen minutes. Then the fight itself, which probably only lasts three minutes or less real time, takes up three episodes on screen.

Maybe I'm just bitter I've already sunk so much time into it. :/

I have yet to come across an anime series that I altogether disliked, but I heard good things about Trinity Blood and I was given the first two volume sets to check it out. I really wasn't all that impressed. But the main white-haired priest vampire guy (I'm bad w/ names) is actually pretty funny, but other than that no i didn't care for it.

It would be an okay series if it wasn't so random and episodic most of the time. I could appreciate it on occasion, I suppose, but trying to watch through it is a real drag. Some episodes were funny, others were like "Why in the world am I even watching this?".

I've got through 55 or so episodes of it. I believe I've seen enough. It's complete and total reliance on its Hit-or-Miss style humor has pretty much killed the show for me.

I haven't met an anime series yet that made me cringe at the thought of continuing it. Although there have been some times when I re-watch a series that was awesome when I was a kid but failed to meet the hype I had set up in my mind (looking at you Dragonball Z)

Hmm....DBZ. Is first. That was very nearly all FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT no story...I mean 5 episodes for one battle with Freeza? pfft. One Piece too...The art, the story, the length, just couldn't stand it. And evangellion and Naruto too...>x> <x< Awful stuff.

Naruto is alright, I get sick of the one chapter one punch format, but at least it's still processing to an ending unlike Bleach. Don't even get me started on Bleach.

Hmmmmm, I feel after watching some of these that they were over rated: Clannad, K-ON...and now I can't think of any more. I have millions of series on my despise list, but they aren't particularly super popular.

I agree with the Evangelion hate though, dystopic mecha with spineless characters just rubs me the wrong way.
