Post game discussion

Do you guys want to keep the current post game system with the votes and the nominations? It doesn't seem to be working particularly well, what with like 8 nominations in a nomination thread that's been around for more than twice it's allotted time.

Or do you want me to decide upon post games based on what goes on in a post game discussion thread where people can voice their opinions as to which game to take next and when the current game has been going on for too long?

Either way is fine by me.

Discussions are cooler imo. I think both current post games are a bit lame. Never been a fan of the rate m rep (even without the rep), and it's hard to come up with good stuff in the other one. I wish I had suggestions to make it better though.

I think you should just choose, and if an AF member has an idea they could just PM it to you and you could decide if it would be popular or not :/

Yea what Wolley said. I think you should choose on your own more or less and maybe surprise us? That would be pretty cool and well the nominations do seem pointless as you've already said.

Well, I don't really understand what you're saying . . .
But it kinda seems like the siggy/ava rating one is being done by the same people a lot. Soon, there won't be enough people and they'll start rating the same person. Or, maybe that's just me being stupid.

No, it's certainly a valid concern. I've noticed several members posting in there several times a day actually. Partly why I've always disliked the game.

I personally don't think this is too much of an issue. If the crowd that thinks that post count is directly proportional to the value of a person as a human being make too much of a fuss, I can always delete all posts in spent post games, so that they don't add to the post count in the long run.

In general, the thing is that spam is going to be around whether the mods are nazis about it or not. And because of that, I personally think it's pointless to spend my waking hours playing whac-a-mole with the spam posts. My main focus is to keep it from interfering with more legitimate discussions, and if it happens in threads where no serious discussing is going on, I usually let it slip. Blatant attempts at farming post count is naturally struck down, but beyond that, my tolerance for silly threads is pretty high.

I think the one where we talk about and we give you our thoughts sounds better. I will reduce clutter and stickies that are just in the way from being there. This is just what I think.

I've always liked threads were the first post is a picture of a person and or situation were there is an area of space for a quote bubble(s) that is blank. From there users edit in their own text for some pretty lulzy results. I've done it before, and it's quite fun. It's best with either a 4 panel pic, or an easily recognizable scene from a movie.

I have another suggestion. How about a post game where all the replies have to be in the form of image macros? Of course, one image per post. It would also be nice if the discussion sorta made sense as opposed to random nonsense.

How about a thread consisting of stupid questions with even more stupid answers.

Example: Q: Hey did you just come home?

A: No this is just a hologram and my real self will arrive in about 5 more minutes.

Is the current format with one classic post game (like rate signature, ^<v, etc.) and one silly and/or original post game (start a rumor, do you have, etc.) in parallel working?

I got a Post Game suggestion: Blatantly Accuse the previous poster of Terrorism. It's so funny when real people do it as a reflex action.
Example:

Post1: It's chilly in here, I'm putting on a jacket.

Post2: It's a suicide vest!
I'm sipping my 5-a-clock tea.

Post3: You're spiking someone else's tea and pretending it's your own!
I'm watching the Superbowl on TV.

I agree that dose sound like fun though there will need to be some rules added to give stricture I would think.

I agree this post game system is working pretty well. Though I do remember bringing something like that up to Eris before not to long ago that he should talk to the admins about creating a post game forum. The only issue with that is it would be very spammy and hard to moderate I would think. I've seen them on other forums and boy can it be a mess.

That's a negative on my side; all I'm here for is the Misc section, and many members are as well. I don't even know how many sub-forums have been made anymore, for I don't bother to visit the main page. I like multifunctional forums because that's where the general attention is at and people can enjoy diversity, not the same subjects over and over. Take the Videogame and Music forums for instance, there's nobody with an IQ over 10 that posts there. Strike that, there's nobody that posts there anymore, or at least there wasn't back when i used to post, but that time there was Princess Ai and Kishiro moderating them, so no wonder they sucked.
Hell, I say make the Misc forum a whole website on it's own. Texas would do the same thing out of the US.
