For anime, I enjoy science fiction and mecha series; for manga I prefer mystery or adventure series.

I always find the psychological ones have the biggest impact like neon genesis, elfen lied, gantz and gilgamesh but i havent found many other good ones. any suggestions?

Ecchi, Shounen, Comedy... but lately I've come to like romance and slice-of-life ^_^

First named genres would be my favorite - but their effect seems to be amplified by the presence of the latter genres xD For example, an ecchi anime with a relationship development really hits the ultimate possibility for loveability. Or Slice-of-life + ecchi + comedy... Nyaaaaa :3

My favorite's probably drama, romance, school life, comedy,magic, and supernatural. At least these are my top favorites. I totally fall for drama the most. lol But occassionally sci fi and some other gennres interests me if they have a decent or good storyline/plot. Usually takes up to 3 eps on new animes for me to decide or just by looking at the summary/descriptions.

I liiike-or more like favor action comedies with a little bit of background romance. Boys stories mostly. Ruroni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Buso Renkin, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood-stuff like that~
