Good Gamer?

I consider myself jack of all trades, master of none. I can be a good addition, hold my own, tend to stick with friends or my group more often than going loan wolf in multiplayer, and can be open to any game type and situation. My only issue is that I can be a little indecisive when it comes to major choices or picking upgrades of some kind. lol

I think im a good gamer, not the best or one of those people that memorize every mortal kombat fatality or the speed of each soul caliber attack and which kick or horizontal slash to use to insure first hit lol..... im more take time and thoroughly beat a game down on all difficulties kinda person

Average except when drunk at which point i get good quick for some reason.....

i am a serious gamer. if i was in a race i would always try to be in 1st place, if i don't come in 1st ill keep try.

Hmm, this is an interesting conversation.

The problem with the word best is that it is so vague. Good can't be defined with only skill just as an artist can't.
I believe that a real gamer has more than a skill. It is a heart and respect for the game.
Even when I am getting completely demolished in a game, I still manage to have a good spirit about it. :P

I compare video games to art because I do more than just play, quote on quote, look at it. I can feel it.
and those who take them far to serious, well I guess its not really a game any more. hehe

I'm a gamer. I play pretty much anything -- single or multi-player, console or online, RPG or shooter, etc. Among the friends I tend to play with, they say I'm the best gamer in the group, but I highly doubt it; I just think they don't have the greatest self-confidence, so I always encourage them to play some Brawl or the like with me so that they can improve. I rarely play competitively, but when I do, I guess I can become a bit too serious... I still respect my opponents though; I never ragequit and I always congratulate the the other players whether I've won or lost.

In my opinion, it's not a matter of high-scores or the amount of games you've played, but how much you commit to the game and how you respect fellow gamers. A gamer may be skilled if he has the highest scores in a state tournament, but I don't consider someone "good" if they play while boasting or putting others down.

Well, i like to think that the saying - The weaker dog barks more ,not sure thats how its goes but i think it applies to alot of player vs player games.
For example when i was playing s4 league there was this guy going on about %.... so basicly this is how it looked
Random - the % dude
Matt - Me

Random - Ill start at 50%
Matt - Bring it =)
*Matt killed Random*
Random - That was pure luck this time ill go 90%
Matt - Alright...
*Matt killed Random*
Random - k ill go 100%
Matt - This is getting boring...

And on it goes untill like 300% where he says im a hacker.....sure i did die once or twice but yea you get what i mean
But this doesnt always apply =)

But what i want to say is that the good gamers are hard to find ;P Their normally abit lone wolf ish =) atleast from my pvp experiences

@xMatt Why I don't play FPS games. Too many people that claim anyone who uses there brains as hackers. They pretty much expect you to just stand there while they shoot you. When the smart thing to do is take cover and come at a different angle if possible.

Yupp =) Tho S4 League is kinda special since it kinda reminds of Gunz, where u can do wall jumping and all that =)

There's no such thing as a good or bad gamer. A gamer is someone who plays video games for the sake of, you guessed it, fun.

Hmm.. Well, here's what I think

Fighting games- Average (It's hard memorizing combos and moves and I easily lose my temper when playing)
RPG, Simulation, Puzzle - This is where I excel most.
Shooting games- Average (Especially games with zombies and monsters, I just panic.)

Personally it really depends on the game i'm playing. I'm ace at Legend of Zelda games or Prince of Persia style games. But I suck at shooters even though I love playing them. Compared to my friends i'm not that skilled but I'd call myself a decent gamer because I may not be great on my own but I tend to work well in a team =]
