Late to the punch, but there's still plenty of time for discussion.
How do y'all feel about the election? Any voting stories? Opinions on the political parties and platforms? Poll result discussion? Or do you simply want to comment on how awesome of a moustache Jack Layton has?

I KNOW THAT FEEL BRO.

Right now, according to the results I've seen so far, it's the Conservatives leading a minority government, with the New Democratic Party ahead of the Liberals. Basically, I want da NDP to do well, and right now it looks like they've doubled their seats in the House of Commons, and they've achieved the largest amount of seats in their history.

With 70 percent of the votes counted, the Conservatives were elected or leading in 168 seats, followed by the NDP with 102, Liberals with 33 and the Bloc Québécois with four. A party needs to capture 155 seats to win a majority in the House of Commons.

I'm pissed. This is absolutely ridiculous. How can 40% of us actually vote for this man and his party?

After all these scandals...redirected money from the G8 security fund to Clement's riding, the in and out financing scandal, the Oda affair, the blocking of young voters in Guelph ...the relentless character assassination, negativity and fear-mongering...spending billions of dollars on fighter jets (when seriously, what war are we fighting?) and still 40% think he is the best choice. Ashamed to be Canadian.

Maybe those people are just too apathetic to care, and since Canada hasn't had any major problems (unlike the US...), they probably just wanted to keep the status quo as the safest route.

On a side note, having conservatives take over my gov't would be my worst nightmare...

Maybe it was a vote based on ideology rather than performance. It's also possible that the other party was worse, and you're overlooking their mistakes because you prefer their ideology.
