How do we know when people are being honest and dishonest?

On the other hand, this can also teach you to learn the possible subtle hints a human being can give off when not speaking the whole truth. Though, this only works in face-to-face scenarios; the voice is far easier to fake than the facial and body expressions of someone intending to hide something from you.

I go with how I feel and what I know to determine the truth or lie, however I can trust people a little too easily but I don't keep my guard down. There's been some time I've been lied. It hurts like a motherf*cker!

Those hints are hints of nervousness, not lying. While lying may make you nervous, so may telling the truth.

If someone is being dishonest they don't act like their usual self and probably try to sugar-coat the truth!

If someone is being honest they won't have to hide anything from you. They'll tell you what you want to hear without ending up hearing another side of story from someone who has a different side of story to tell.

When all is said and done, you can never be really sure of a person's honesty or dishonesty. Bearing this in mind however, I suggest to be prepared. Don't assume past a point of certainty that you know the truth, or the whole truth as the case may be. And even then, there's always the chance that the 'truth' you once knew could easily turn into a lie. Do your best and try to be open to that possibility as much as you're able.

Sometimes you can tell by the person's body lanuage. Acting nervous while trying to tell a story they should know or moving in a certain way. We humans sometimes give out little hints with our body movements that we do without thinking.

Usually by the tone of the voice changes when somebody isn't telling the truth and their general body language shifts subtly but to some this can be picked up on, this is how some fortune workers work actually they read the body language and manipulate them by throwing our suggestions which will prize out the customer's wanted answer.

Easy. Buy a lie detector machine, and ask them questions to see whether they are lying or not. It works on the Maury show all the time and for Ray J and Flava Flav.

Well...if you're a special CIA agent you can always force someone into a lie detector test, or conduct sequences of mass torture. However, I like to figure out things the old fashion way...not figuring them out at all. So let's all jut sit back, eat some delicious tacos and drink some carbonated beverages.

Most people have some kind of obvious -tell- about them that I can recognize if I've known them for at least a couple of months. Although I will admit I glaze over even that if I trust the person enough. It's getting difficult to pick out the liars lately though. I've met some really good pathological liars since I started Uni. No shame or hesitation in the least about the most serious things.

The truth always prevail. One lie after another can't do anything. Either way it would be known anyways so its best to fess up and say the truth. When you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything.
What I do is just observe, liars don't fool me they fool themselves; they fall harder.

The method has some serious flaws, though. If you pressure an innocent man, you may get a false confession. There are a lot of documented cases of this happening, especially when the suspect is a child.

I was talking in general sense. There are always exceptions to a rule (except Rule 34, but that's not really what's being discussed.)

The Dhammapada quotes, "A fool who knows he is a fool is that much wiser. a fool who thinks he is wise is a fool indeed." the same can be said of relationships. The biggest mistake one can make is letting his attachments for someone or his want for a relationship distort his perception of the actual relationship itself. with that said, when in a realistic mentality, you have three options. The first two are trust or analysis. the first is more related to the rolling of dice. the second is based in making assessments based on knowledge gained from observing the person. neither path is wrong either. both may have a good or bad outcome. you must make the decision based on who you are.
also, if you want you could simply tag along for the ride. Regardless of the outcome, loss is as much an invigorating element of life as gain. you must know one to know the other. However, that leaves a lack of control I'm not fond of. I would be classified under analysis. Anyway, I've rambled on about about this for too long. My apologies. . .
