What is success to you? Happiness? Maybe surpassing a personal goal? Money & Girls? Different people have their own definition of being successful.
For me, whatever personal goal/line you meet or surpass. One man's success is another man's failure.

What is success to you? Happiness? Maybe surpassing a personal goal? Money & Girls? Different people have their own definition of being successful.
For me, whatever personal goal/line you meet or surpass. One man's success is another man's failure.
Success is the full achievement of a task, goal, or milestone. Partial achievement of this grouping is not, by an underpinning definition, true success. While, if this partial achievement is accepted by those in the person's environment and, more importantly, is accepted by the pursuer of the task, goal, or milestone, then it can be regarded as a success.
Success over the span of life is achieving all of or nearly all of one's own goals - with an exception.
If one's own goals are not that of basic cultural standards (or any standards by peers' accepted means), regardless of whether they are achieved or not, the person is not successful.
I've never really thought about it, but this description of success is sensible enough to me.
Success to me is having a loving wife, a good job and friends who will be there for you no matter what.

There is a lot of definitions for success to me, such as accomplishing things that you thought of and being happy with your life, but a BIG success to me is discovering something that nobody has ever discovered yet or inventing/creating something that nobody has ever made, because you just made the impossible possible. Nothing is impossible, just remember that.
Hmm. Probably knowing I tried as hard as I could, even if I couldn't accomplish the goal or milestone I wanted to complete, though completing them is just an extra bonus.

Heeey!
satisfaction. accomplishment. To achieve enough so that when i look back on my deathbed, i can safely say that i was of benefit to this world. that i made the world even a minuscule of a better place. That my life had a purpose, and i had done all i can.
Who says a fool can't tell another how not to be one?
Seriously, success is just relationships. Ones where everybody is known, loved & understood. As long as the basics of survival are covered, the rest of it is random content. Ever go to a terrible movie with a wonderful companion? All of life is like that.
It depends on whoever's definition of success. As for mine is to set a goal, and simply accomplish it. Or not even set a goal, and let time go by and let it find me. I'm not ambition, unfortunately/fortunately, I want things to come to me and I'll go on take it. Followed by success it goes with opportunity, it depends on what it is, too. I really hate those "opportunity" when people pressures me to do it, its a thousand times worse when its someone who wants to give it to you and that someone is a family member. ;/ I know they care, but they use that opportunity for me to be successful and it doesn't make me all happy. Laame~ I do things what I want and be successful while grabbing opportunity in my own pace.
My success would be a 6 figure salary, an awesome girl, no kids, and a personally fun job. However, even having just one of those things would make me consider myself successful, because I'm an optimist.
Success to me is happiness and achieving a goal. If I have done something that I know in my hearted I wanted for a long time, its a huge success for me.
Have an all-around satisfying lifestyle that has you waking up each and every morning with naught but anticipation for the sheer awesomeness that the day is sure to bring you.
Sure, it's not at all specific, but I like to keep definitions for words such as "success" rather broad so as not to limit yourself.
My thanks to Xey Oiz for the awesome new set.
"Screw being normal and be awesome instead!"
It's more of a day-to-day basis for me really.
asking myself the question "Do I know more today than I did yesterday?"
the type of information and amount determines what I deem "success" or not.

Success isn't a word where you can go pick up Webster and find out what it means. To each his own definition in this case.
To me:
Setting goals and accomplishing them. IE, No, winning the lottery isn't success, that makes you a lucky sash. Planning on losing 10 lbs. in 2 weeks, and accomplishing that gives you success when you accomplish it, however most continue these goals by saying, well hell, let's keep that weight off now.

success, for me is the happiness or satisfaction i feel when i managed
to achieve my goals.
i believe it's achieving true happiness. it'll take years and years of experience and knowledge to accomplish that.

I'm a simple man with simple goals. I'd like happiness, a circle of people who love me, and world conquest.
To me success is achieved many times every day rather than once or twice in a lifetime. Example: Success I got up on time today, success I finished more work than what was assigned to me today. By choosing to go threw each day by setting small goals I have found that I tend to be more productive, have more focus and just tend to be in a better mood.
I find since no other definition of personal success is useful if you're dead, the fact that I'm alive makes that day successful because I can progress towards my goal. Long term success is definitely defined by accomplishing the goals and such you define for yourself, but to me success would mean that I lived a long life.
It's a bit cliche, but it is how I see it.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

Success is to accomplish task(s) that were once unfullfilled. Now that it is fullfilled you end up getting that "satisfaction" feeling that you end up deserving, because of your hardwork to achieve the goal(s) you wanted to aim for.
