If video games made everyone kill people, then I think we'd have a bone to pick with zelda, and mario and other "kid friendly" games. See, zelda teaches you to bust into people's houses announced, break their pots and steal their cash. You can even slaughter creatures (although they are "evil" to begin with), and all in the name of defeating some evil pig dude and saving a princess chick. So if anything, anyone who plays zelda should be robbing banks and houses, while saving random females from certain doom.
Violent individuals just usually gravitate towards violent games to funnel their deep-seated aggression and rage. That's probably the connection no one seems to make in today's society; they just instinctively go "oh, bad games are bad" and don't put much stock into who's actually playing them to begin with.
