Japan Release Date: September 16th 2004
North America Release Date: May 1st 2005
    System: Game Boy Advance

Plot: The game takes place in the Hoenn region, which is known as the 3rd official region in the world of Pokemon. It is the game following Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire and is also the region following the Johto region and the region before the Sinnoh Region. The game begins like another other Pokemon games, where you are able to choose your gender(not available in every Pokemon Game) and also think up of a name for your character. When the game begins, you find you are moving into your new town and you are very new to the Hoenn region. The Hoenn region is large, so it will take a while to fully explore, and it took me honestly 700 hours to fully complete so good luck! The two main storylines in this game is defeating Team Aqua and Team Magma, and also beating the Pokemon league and becoming a Pokemon Master. Once you defeat the Pokemon league, you'll be able to advance onto the battle frontier, which was not accessible in the previous two versions.

Graphics: 10/10: For the GBA, this game was a hit! It has impressive graphics that is a huge step up from the previous games on the GBA/GBC and offers an exciting and rich experience to your journey to become a Pokemon master. The Pokemon are highly detailed and also the towns/cities are greatly put together with thought and high standards.

    Storyline Changes:
    - For ther first time ever, both Team Magma and Team Aqua are villains, which in the previous two games it depended on which game you purchased that would detail which team you'd face throughout the game.

    - Rayquaza is more prominent plot-wise, and is also now a Pokemon you are able to capture.

My Review: 9.5/10: For the 700 hours I put in this game, I can honestly tell you it was well worth the purchase. I enjoyed every second of it, well except the berry glitch which I'll explain below.. But other than that, the game is a must buy for fans of the series and it is not clear yet if their will be a remake of this version so it'd be a good idea to pick it up while you can for the GBA system. As I noted earlier, I was very impressed with the graphics and I started with Treecko, which I still use sometimes to this very day. Even though I rarely play it anymore, this game created memories for me, and I"m sure it'd create memories for you too!

Berry Glitch: The berry glitch is the nickname for a glitch in the coding of of Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald is usually after 100 hours of gameplay the internal clock will freeze, or no longer operate correctly. You can still play the game of course, but clock based events will no longer occur. For example, trainers will no longer want to rebattle and the energy guru never sells his items cheap.

How to fix: (information gathered from Bulbapedia):
The glitch can be fixed by downloading a patch from Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald, Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon XD, Pokémon Channel, Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire, the e-Reader, a specific interactive demo disc, or by sending the affected game to Nintendo.

I hope you enjoyed my review! I'll be doing another one as soon as possible!

One little hint: Rayquaza could be captured in Ruby and Sapphire as well...
