Default [Help - Software] Windows 7 Audio Problem

I recently got an asus K52J which has windows 7 Home Premium. I was trying to record sound from the computer using the stereo mix but I can't seem to do that as it's not in the sound properties. I have clicked Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices yet the stereo mix still isn't there. Any ideas how to fix this and bring back the stereo mix in the recording properties tab?
This is a Sig. It's horribly out of date.

Assuming your model is using Conexant audio chip, have you try loading it using its Vista drivers? If you have successfully install the Vista and still having the same result, there are only two possible reason why your Stereo Mix device doesn't show up in the Disable List:
    1. Your chip doesn't support Stereo Mix.
    2. Unlikely your manufacturer (Conexant) still doesn't resolve the driver compatibility with Windows 7. Most probably your laptop model is using pre-Windows 7 RTM chip.

You can either use software to emulate Stereo Mix or use drivers on the OEM website to get some work around the problem.

You wouldn't have a link to any of those, would you? I do appreciate the help.

You can try one of these free multi-track audio editor software to see which one can emulate Stereo Mix. Can you screenshot your Audio Control: Recording with Show Disable Device tick.

I read that laptop manufacturers are force to disable the Stereo Mix/Wave out Mix function on their laptops due of "copyright infringement" reason. Whether the allegation is true or otherwise, like in my previous post, your laptop doesn't carry the Stereo Mix function.
