Why are guiding dogs(those who are guidance for the blind) allowed in stores and why others are not? Is that what you meant? If so...

I've seen dogs in Walmart that aren't seeing dogs. They were in a shopping cart.
My dogs have gone into Michaels as well. They didn't kick us or the dog out. They said, "Awww, how cute!"
A seeing-eye dog has been trained to a standard, thus letting it in the store is less of a liability than any normal dog. Also it would give off bad PR if a store refused to let in a blind person.Quote:

Obsydian Judge is absolutely correct. Seeing-eye dogs is specially trained to be allowed into public places, shopping malls, public transport, and I`m sure most cafe's/restuarants allow them aswell. It`s to give people with a disability a chance to live a more normal and independant lifestyle.

My store has had more than it's share of "unpleasant experiences" that confirm why any ol' animal is not allowed inside.
I think its more of a question of Why Cant Dogs Go Into Stores Period. It's no worse then bringing children in a store. They mess with things, eat random things, pee and poo sometimes, throw up and throw fits. Dogs actually seem like less trouble then children.

Chyea, if children act like that out in public, the parents don`t have any discipline. I agree, there is nothing worse than sitting in a coffee shop and you hear from the other end of the mall a child having a tantrum, wailing and carrying-on. But those children need a good slap in the ear to learn that, that sort of behaviour is unacceptable most of the time. Where is the discipline Mom's and Dad's? If it was up to me, I would let all dogs into the stores and fine their owners for all the damage they do (including barking), so bad dogs' owners would think twice before taking them inside. Other than that, don't discriminate against dogs, people. A dog I didn't even know might have saved my life once... or at least saved me from getting some serious beating by a bunch of Croats. And that dog was even Croatian.

Because people with disabilities HATE being dependent on other people. Because you'll have to depend on them for LIFE.. not just a few month or so but for the rest of your life. And they don't like it so they try to do as much as they can on their own without requiring the help from others. Which is where the dogs come in. They help them navigate and stuff and act as their companion.Quote:
