Music Lyrics (READ FIRST POST before posting)
First off a few rules:
(due to spamming in the last thread)
1. Review the current thread to see if the lyrics have already been posted (and if you know it's been posted in the last thread, don't repost it here!!).
(Also, I'm going to try organising the lyrics already posted alphabetically come the new year...and I stress the word try--there's 137 pages of posts)
2. No commenting. Do not create a post to say "hey, I love that song" or "that's one of my favourites" that's spam and you will earn an infraction for it. The fact that spamming has become a repeated problem here is not fun for anyone.
3. Include title of song and artist in bold before adding the lyrics. I'd like that to be in bold so that it will stand out when people are searching through the thread.
4. I shouldn't have to include this, but no chit-chatting. This is solely for the lyrics, not a place for you to chat about other things. Most of you already know that, but for those who don't here's another friendly reminder.
Thank you.
Rules may be amended on a as needed basis.

I've been sitting in the dirt (for 24 hours)
*I've forgotten my own worth (for 24 hours)
Said that you'd be here last night (oh)
I'm trying to shake you from my skin (for 48 hours)
Clean up this mess I've been put in (for 48 hours)
I'm guessing you can't always win
I'm guessing you can't always win
Chorus
I can't have anything I want
They say I'm just too young
But it's not my fault
I'll find my own way home if I gotta
I'll make it all alone if I gotta
I'm not so trustful with my friends
I'm on the road alone again
I guess I'm tired of giving in (oh oh)
I'm sick of wishing you were near
You've gone your way, you've made it clear
Why do I feel you everywhere?
Why do I feel this everywhere? Yeah!
Chorus
I can't have anything I want
They say I'm just too young
But it's not my fault
I'll find my own way home if I gotta
I'll make it all alone if I gotta
Don't wanna spend my time
Watching the world go by
I think I'd rather die
And I don't got a plan
Not gonna justify
To stay where I stand
Something I won't deny
Chorus
I can't have anything I want
They say I'm just too young
But it's not my fault
I'll find my own way home if I gotta
I'll make it all alone if I gotta
Chorus
I can't have anything I want
They say I'm just too young
But it's not my fault
I'll find my own way home if I gotta
I'll make it all alone

"Before I Forget" by Slipknot, 2004
Go!
Stapled shut - Inside an outside world and I'm
Sealed in tight - Bizarre but right at home
Claustrophobic - Closing in and I'm
Catastrophic - Not again
I'm smeared across the page - And doused in gasoline
I'll wear you like a stain - Yet I'm the one who's obscene
Catch me up on all your sordid little insurections
I've got no time to lose, I'm just caught up in all the cattle
Frey the strings
Throw the shapes
Hold your breath
Listen
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that
I'm ripped across the ditch - And settled in the dirt and I
Wear you like a stitch - Yet I'm the one who's hurt
Pay attention to your twisted little indiscretions
I've got no right to win, I'm just caught up all the battles
Locked in clutch
Pushed in place
Hold your breath
Listen
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that
My end
It justifies my means
All I ever do is delay
My every attempt to evade
The end of the road and my end
It justifies my means
All I ever do is delay
My every attempt to evade
The end of the road
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that
"Take This Life" by In Flames, 2006
It's not so much the pain
It's more the actual knife
Pretending the picture is perfect
I cut myself to sleep
I close my eyes for a second
And curse my fragile soul
I scream to hide that I'm lonely
The echo calls my name
If I ever, If I never
Make me want to stand up
For whatever
Make me see. make me be
Make me understand
You're there for me
Take this life, I'm right here
Stay awhile and breathe me in
Take this life, I'm right here
Stay awhile and breathe me in
The rain drops just beg to hit me
What now? Hasn't rained for days
No time to play hide-and-seek
I call on you to take me on
Break me down to pieces
Put me back, do it right this time
Struggling to fill this empty shell
Burn all my efforts
In the end it means nothing
If I ever, If I never
Make me want to stand up
For whatever
Make me see. make me be
Make me understand
You're there for me
Take this life, I'm right here
Stay awhile and breathe me in
Take this life, I'm right here
Stay awhile and breathe me in
These thoughts
Burn a hole in my heart
These thoughts
Will keep me free and
If I ever, If I never
Make me want to stand up
For whatever
Make me see. make me be
Make me understand
You're there for me
Take this life, I'm right here
Stay awhile and breathe me in
Take this life, I'm right here
Stay awhile and breathe me in
"The Devil Went Down To Georgia (Guitar Hero 3 Version)" by The Charle Daniels Band,
The Devil went down to Georgia,
he was looking for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind, 'cause he was way behind,
he was willing to make a deal.
When he came across this young man
sawing on a fiddle and playing it hot.
And the Devil jumped up on a hickory stump and said,
"Boy let me tell you what:
I guess you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too,
And if you'd care to take a dare,
I'll make a bet with you.
Now you play a pretty good fiddle,
boy, but give the Devil his due.
I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul
'cause I think I'm better than you."
The boy said, "My name's Johnny and it might be a sin,
But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret,
'cause I'm the best there's ever been."
Johnny, rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard,
'Cause hell's broke loose in Georgia and the Devil deals the cards
And if you win you'll get this shiny fiddle made of gold,
But if you lose, the Devil gets your soul!
The Devil opened up his case and he said, "I'll start this show."
And fire blew from his fingertips as he rosined up his bow.
And he pulled the bow across the strings and it made an evil hiss.
Then a band of demons joined in,
and it sounded something like this.
When the Devil finished, Johnny said,
"Well you're pretty good old son.
But sit down in that chair right there
and let me show you how it's done!"
Fire on the Mountain, run, boys, run.
The Devil's in the house of the risin sun.
Chicken in the breadpan picking out dough,
Granny does your dog bite, "No, child, no."
The Devil bowed his head cause' he knew that he'd been beat.
And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet.
Johnny said, "Devil, just come on back
if you ever want to try again,
I done told you once,
I'm the best there's ever been."
He played...
Fire on the Mountain, run, boys, run.
The Devil's in the house of the rising sun.
Chicken in the breadpan picking out dough,
Granny will your dog bite, "No, child, no."
Missy Higgins-The Special Two
I've hardly been outside my room in days
Because I don't feel that I deserve the sunshine's rays
The darkness helped until the whiskey wore away
And it was then I realize that conscience never fades.
When you're young, you have this image of your life--
That you'll be scrupulous, and one day even make a wife
And you make boundaries you'd never dream to cross
And if you happen to, you wake completely lost
But I will fight for you.
Be sure that I will fight
Until we are The Special Two once again.
And we will only need each other, we'll bleed together
Our hands will not be taught to hold another's
'Cause we're The Special Two
And we could only see each other, we'll breathe together
These arms will not be taught to need another's
Because we're The Special Two
I remember someone old once said to me
That "Lies will lock you up with truth the only key."
But I was comfortable and warm inside my shell
And couldn't see this place could soon become my Hell.
So is it better to tell and hurt, or lie to save their face?
Well, I guess the answer is don't do it in the first place
I know I'm not deserving of your trust from you right now
Oh, but if by chance you change your mind, you know I will not let you down
'Cause we were The Special Two
And we'll be again
And we will only need each other, we'll bleed together
Our hands will not be taught to hold another's
'Cause we're The Special Two
And we could only see each other, we'll breathe together
These arms will not be taught to need another's
And we're The Special Two
I step outside my mind's eye for a minute
And I look over me like a doctor lookin' for disease, or something that could ease the pain
But nothing cures the hurt you..
You bring on by youself
Just remembering,
Just remembering how we were...
And we would only need each other, we'd bleed together
These hands would not be taught to hold another's
We were The Special Two
And we could only see each other, we'd breathe together
These arms would not be taught to need another's
'Cause we were The Special Two
