Eh, this is what happens when you have people make money from spam. They built spambots that can beat out regular methods of blocking. Luckily our filters still catch a good 80-90% of the crap and keep that from becoming members or even posting.
Trust me, I've already discussed the odds and ability to travel to the individuals home and work that make this bots and napalm the hell out of their lives just because of their inconvenience with @FlashD .
I can still dream that the anti-spam filter will one day start filtering @Animedude5555 's stupid spam threads too...

Every night the spam bots come and leave their little golden nuggets for us as gifts. Most are taken care of by the mods, and I do a clean sweep in the morning, but if you get to the forum before I've had a chance (or if I've had a work thing to rush off to) then there may be a few of them still around.
You might be willing to live with it, but a majority of captcha systems have already been broken and are about as useful as a chocolate fireguard regardless of if it's set for registration or for posting since the bots can be loaded with software to get around them.Quote:

Back when I used to be pretty active in the forum I also noticed that & I've once spoken with some members on chat about those, but it seems that despite the efforts some of those spam bots/threads get past the preliminary filters, but not for long as the mods & admins handle them personally.
After some time I got used to it & I could filter spam threads by merely examining the title & looking at the section where the thread is posted.
As @1nterest1ng mentioned, you could report violations in the forums & the mods/admins will personally take care of them.

It's not just that, when there's a report it goes to everyone. So if you report something in Yoko's section or Ranshiin's section, I get it and vice versa (and so does the site admins). XD So they get old quick. Especially when you have the spam bots profiled some.Quote:

My Rule of Thumb when reporting is if it is a spam bot i just Report 1 post not all of them that would be tidious and my reasoning is SPAM BOT. Or if it a singular action then I report SPAM!
And the nice thing, when I get to the threads, I can do a "delete as spam" action, which not only deletes, but also bans the user and deletes every post and thread that they've ever made. I go through the forums, and the trash bin forum daily and do that on all the spam threads, so even if a single thread by the spammer was deleted by a mod, I'll clean up everything they've ever posted (and perma-ban them).
lol It's not that bad, imo. Besides it let's the site admins know what's up too, in case someone can't get to it. Like say, when I come up on my future travel dates; sure BA can handle the General Art section and Eris has the Misc section, but someone is gonna have to watch the Western/Non-Japanese section. That someone will most likely be a site admin, as they have powers over the whole site. So having a report sent out still helps.Quote:

In the interim, I have a suggestion for site staff. In order to create an account, a real email address (non-anonymous) should be required. That will help keep these idiots from making so many accounts.
