The bamboo man..
So he sits alone
Cross-legged on the floor
Bamboo hat tilted
Wanting more
The reeds and grass
Blow in the breeze
This isn't religious
He ain't on his knees
But the bell of life
Rings chilling and true
This man wants nothing
He's one of the few
Sun shines down
And mimics a dance
Shade and sun beams
Left to chance
Trees will sway
Animals roam free
The forest is alive
For all to see
The workmen come
To mow down simplicity
The bamboo man remains
Breaking complicity
They yell 'move'
His eyes stay shut
They mount their engines
Covered in muck
'One more chance'
One of them yells
Bamboo man's still
Hearing natures bells
The engine starts
With a metallic roar
Sharp instruments cut
The forest floor
The man stays there
Perfectly still
The metal monster moves
With intent to kill
Moves closer and closer
Too close now
Bamboo man's quiet
Doesn't raise a brow
Suddenly CRASH
A branch hit's machine
An elephant family
Was marching unseen
They challenge the metal
And stand up to hate
Lower their eyes
In an angry state
Suddenly bamboo man
Opens his eyes
He nod's to the elephants
With little surprise
One kneels down
And bamboo man climbs
On the elephants back
Takes his time
"Now workmen..
It's time to leave
This forests off limits
To green eye'd thieves"
The workmen are shocked
At what they see
"Let's get going!!
Aragh! Wait for me!!"
So bamboo man stayed
And confronted greed
By sitting on the grass
And showing he's free
The elephants and he
Marched on through the wood
They repelled industry
Like they knew they could.

That poem kept my eyes onto it the whole time ^^ I love how it drew me in and made me entranced. Great imagery too.

Re: The bamboo man..
I've noticed that your recent poems relate a lot to nature and preservation of the environment. I love how you incorporate animals into your poems; gives them a voice in the whole manner of whether nature should be preserved or not.

Re: The bamboo man..
Thanks Sigma. It's a topic I find interesting. There's no question that nature should be preserved. :)
