Anyone seen or going to see "I Am Bruce Lee?"
So this new documentary on martial arts legend/philosopher Bruce Lee premiered in a very limited amount of theaters on February 9th and 15th. Unfortunately, there were no theaters around my area showing this. However, the good news is that it's premiering on Spike TV this March 7th, 9/8c with limited commercial interruption!
Check out the trailer:

From what I see in the trailer, the speakers are about a quarter of the people who personally knew him, while the other celebrities were inspired by him.
Anyone here a Bruce Lee fan? I am. He's my inspiration and makes me feel proud to be Chinese. Has he inspired you in any way? And who is going to catch this when it airs? I know I am.
Re: Anyone seen or going to see "I Am Bruce Lee?"
Yes I'm planning to see it, just have to find the time after midterms ^_^;
I've been a Bruce Lee fan (of both his philosophy and determination) for years.
Glad to see people still know the name of the Dragon!

Awesome. Good luck with your midterms then!
Indeed. He did so much for this world. Another documentary "How Bruce Lee Changed the World" explains how much of an impact this one man had on pop culture, media, and martial arts. It's a bit overwhelming actually.
Re: Anyone seen or going to see "I Am Bruce Lee?"
I definitely plan on watching this!
Re: Anyone seen or going to see "I Am Bruce Lee?"
@animeyay should watch this.
Re: Anyone seen or going to see "I Am Bruce Lee?"
Hey now! Just because I'm Asian doesn't mean I'm into Bruce Lee! :P
Buuuuuuut I think I want to watch this documentary~

Heh, there are a lot of Asians who aren't into him (just look at Yahoo answers on BL questions), but glad you want to see it, enjoy!

I saw that on the history channel the day it came out. I had just how many people of different subcultures had an interesting in Bruce Lee. I hope BLAM comes to be. I'd like to go to see it should it be completed.
If you find you have some time try googling Bruce Lee Jokes, They are alot like Chuck Norris jokes but true!
Re: Anyone seen or going to see "I Am Bruce Lee?"
I didn't know Bruce Lee died recently this year. Seems to me the vultures are just waiting for some celebrity to die just so they can sell "autobiography" books and debut films and play their songs for a whole month without stopping.
Last, most disgusting thing I ever saw in a bookstore around here was a book that had a Steve Jobs head shape inside the Apple logo, and the book was titled "Thinking like Jobs" or something, like horribly pointing how limited his thinking was.

A BLAM? I've heard of that too. That would be one awesome art museum. If I had the money, I'd go.
Sounds interesting. Definitely looking into that lol.

Well, it's more of a tribute to more well known and recognized celebrities, but I see what you mean. It's a good way of milking money and exploiting a famous dead person for all they're worth. A well known celebrity dies, the media spreads it, it goes viral immediately, and for a few months people mourn over the loss. During this time, a lot of attention is given to the deceased celeb, and that's when tons more merchandise affiliated with them are sold. It's like the perfect cash cow. In the case of Bruce Lee though, his wife and daughter are some examples of "Bruceploitation." But a lot of the time, what they're doing is to make a living, and to make others aware of what a great man he was.
Wow, really? That is disgraceful. Notice how when after a celebrity or well known person dies, his/her enemies are quick to publicize their hatred of them very openly.

I want to see this because it shows a great man that died much too early. I've been a Bruce Lee fan for years and I think that this does good to further explain his impact on many people.

Yeah, imagine what the world would be like if he was still alive today? There's no denying you're a BL fan (nice avatar btw).
For all you Bruce Lee fans, check out this video comparing his striking speed side by side with Tommy Carruthers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzC1USzPEr8
Now, I don't get how this is a draw. Bruce is wearing a suit and dress shoes! Plus, he's standing a farther distance from his target, has a more relaxed, drawn out form, and the camera's of the 60's don't do his speed any justice. Lee's striking speed from 3 feet away was actually 500ths of a second. He can even take a coin out of your hand and switch it with another before you can close your hand! Tommy had a lot of time to master this, but he still isn't as fast. However, Tommy is awesome, and a great martial artist in his own right.

I agree. Bruce is definitely faster and more relaxed.

Cheers! He definitely is. I really don't know what the uploader was thinking. If you don't take it seriously, I suppose it can be a fun comparison vid lol.

Oh yeah, I bet they wouldn't DARE say that to Bruce's face. Fear Him; if there was no Bruce Lee, there wouldn't be any Chuck Norris! He MADE Chuck Norris!
