Good, Butcher is here. Maybe he can bring some sense to the table and weigh in on what's went down.

Alright, let's see here. I can see where you're concerned about this, Scruffy, but my no lynch vote is my current opinion as well as a placement vote. I'm having a friend come over early tomorrow, and I'm not sure if she'll be gone before voting is over. If not, then I want to make sure I get a vote in. As far as your post was concerned, Ribbon, I'm not trying to give a freebie to the wolves. Think about it. There's probably about 18-20 of us and only 8-19 of them. What are the odds that we will catch a wolf the first day phase?
It's not a game of ratios, however if you'd like for me to make a ratio in it's smaller form I will. Just for you, whom doesn't believe we willy lynch a wolf in the first phase. We are 28. Let's go with your number of wolves, which is 8. So that gives us 8 wolves and 20 townies/independents.
8:20 = 2:5
So the chances we've investigated a wolf (even a little bit) is two for every five townies. That doesn't sound impossible to me.

Ok, it's a dirty job someone's gotta do, so I'll do the honor for the sake of the confused ones: what's a janitor?

Also, what is flawed with this line of thinking is that mafia kills can be very ambiguous and could be done for a variety of things. They could kill one player that was being suspected by another, essentially pinning blame onto that player, when in fact they were both town.
Also, I have another question which presents a huge problem with your thinking: What if there is a janitor in this game? Then we won't know who was killed in the first place.
What exactly does a janitor do? And I believe I did explain my reasoning for this phase. I gotta look ahead, so voting no lynch at this current moment could prove beneficial in catching the wolves later on. Although, come tomorrow I could change my mind about who to vote for.

Re: Wolf XVII: Anime Forum Chronicles
would one of our pr0 player please list the roles that everyone except AF hosts use so that we're all on the same page?
-
Re: Wolf XVII: Anime Forum Chronicles
@animeyay
@Loki
A janitor is a role that conceals a mafia's kill. Meaning that we will know the player who died, but not their role or alignment.

Think about it, though. How often have we caught a wolf in the first day phase? Kaitou may have decided to be a jerk and have only 5 mafia and maybe no independents. Then the chances would be a lot lower.

Re: Wolf XVII: Anime Forum Chronicles
@Scruffy - Why are you so quick to trust The Butcher? Who even says he's pro-town, simply because he role claimed as a BP?

Well, then all my reasoning is destroyed. I didn't know such a role existed...

but we have higher chances. There is at least two mafia factions this game.

Actually, twice, in my memory, we managed to lynch the Alpha Wolf in the first day phase in previous games~

Re: Wolf XVII: Anime Forum Chronicles
Well Scruffy, you want to know why we're all voting No Lynch correct?
Th reason is because on Day 1 we all lynch Town, no Wolves. Plus the interrogations here are bound to bring up paranoid townies acting scummy, not wolves. At least that is going to happen here anyway.
Also, is this Ribbon's first game, or is he still getting into the roll of things?

I don't believe I ever said that I have complete trust in the guy.
I did explain this earlier. I did not get a scummy vibe from him. Besides, he is an experienced player who can contribute and provide information, even if he were mafia.
Also...I believe he was being sarcastic about being BP. Lawl.

Ribbon's been in quite a few games and has caught me as a wolf before.

I believe here, things are different, Butcher. Scum has been lynched on D1 here multiple times. Even on NF, lynching scum on D1 is not an alien concept, albeit rare.
I have complete faith in my scumdar right now, and feel like there would be a good lynch here.

Heck Scruffy, I'm already suspecting you and somebody else in mind.

Even so, the fact that you are avoiding to put a lynch on the first dayphase isn't going to help town at all. It has already been explained, waiting for the wolves to kill a townie is not going to help us advance. They could easily do a random kill. Or put two people against each other.
Unless you want this of course. Wolves could easily be doing the no-lynch bandwagon to give them a little head start, and you could be either a wolf or a townie who doesn't get the negativity of not voting.

Ok, let's see here. We have the mafia, which could be any number of people. We have the NF Duo Mafia, which I'm assuming is 2 people, and we have the independents, which could also be any number of people. Kaitou put [???] for winning conditions for the independents, which along with concealing their roles could also maybe hint that there might not be any. Assuming that the duo is 2 people and the other mafia should have at least 1 person, then that's a minimum of 3 mafia. I'm also assuming that there's not going to be that many mafia, maybe 6 or 7 at the most. With such a low number of mafia, then that means our chances of voting off a townie are a lot higher early on.
Yeah...my thoughts can be hard to follow sometimes >.>

No problems with that. A little bit of suspicion can be healthy, I suppose.

Now how is that a good scumtell? It's not. Not in the slightest. People are going to respond in the same manner. If you ask them personal questions, you are basing your suspicion of them on personality and response to every-day questions, as opposed to in-game performance.
Who says they are going to be truthful and if the convo will be short? Plus I don't only just ask one question, so it's not like the convo isn't over after I respond back to them asking how I am doing.
I love how you're telling me it's not scumtell when you have voted for people in games based on their simple responses in the games and then you judge them based on some of the littlest things they say to make your vote, and somehow their little responses are scum. Honestly, anyone can be scum right now in this game, but it's kind of hard to fully justify if someone is total scum in the very beginning of the game.
Anyways, I'm done talking about how the game should be played, cause honestly a person can go about playing it however they want as long as they are obeying the mods rules. This game is based mostly on luck, so people should quit worrying as much about how a person is posting unless it's themself they are worrying about, and try to have fun in the end.

I have one word for this section: Nope.

Re: Wolf XVII: Anime Forum Chronicles
Would be nice to have a list of roles. This is way different than when I played in Black Adam's game. Although...I didn't really last to long. I think I got lynched afer the 2nd day phase....? but I guess i'll cast my vote just to be on the safe side. [Vote Lynch Ribbon] I started to get suspicious of ZW because of the way he explained about what role he thinks you had, but to me you seemed to be appear innocent then suspicious. So i'm just not going to take my chances x.x

Re: Wolf XVII: Anime Forum Chronicles
I cannot jump on this ribbon bandwagon.
You're derping in my opinion. Don't let me stop you though.

Gazkul, looks like you've changed your playstyle since V2, of course that is to be expected.
You still a Wolf?
