How do you take care of a bat?...I got it on my B-day..>_>....
you got a bat as a gift without any background info on how to take care of it?
that's wack
google searches are usually quite helpful when it comes to animal care; and I'm sure there's some online bat-enthusiast forums that could help you out.
Is it a bat or a bat?
(see image and respond with A or B)
Make sure you varnish it, this will prevent the elements from harming it.
If this were a normal forum. B.Quote:

Did the cat eat it?
...You're allowed to have a bat as a pet? Like...Legally?

So did your bat die? I imagine an animal like that would be pretty fragile and hard to take care of, not a very suitable pet (especially for a kid).
Edit: Btw, I dont know who gave you this bat, but if it was some kid down your street(or something like that) I wouldnt trust where it came from. You probably shouldnt be handling it, as they can carry rabbies.
haha now i dont feel alone ^^ i have a pet bat named Hoshiyomi ^^ and the best thing you can do for it is when you go to school seeings how they are night time things leave food out for them because they may wake up and have it in a dark spot and with a lot of room....food wise live food would be good because you can give it a chance to fly around and get some exersise and an other thing is dont let other animles around it for it may be hurt or die of fear....and i know that this is late but if you get another bat then follow my words....but that is just how i get along with my bat...and they really bite hard.....and if it feels like it is in danger then it may attace.
ps i never really leave my bat alone i take it to school with me....but now with a few kids i cant :( but i love Hoshiyomi any ways ^^ and yes they are fragle things so the best thing to do if you wont to hold it and you and the bat are close then it will come to you for loves ^^ and that is all i have for you right now.
I believe its best to set fragile creatures like these to be free...But I still want people to post more because I am planning on catching one......
P.S.: My brother smacked A BAT (not mine) with a bat when the BAT was going for his eyes...And the bat died...He studied it for a while I guess....
Ahh no fair. I want a bat. Where did you get it?!!
what are you taking about
I'm sorry to hear about the bat (Whichever one it is) but bats shouldn't really be kept as pets. Seriously, I think there should be laws against that kinda stuff.
You got a bat for your birthday? Do you keep it in a cage or some type of shelter that allows it to fly and nest? I hope you took it to the vet seeing as how bats carry rabies and other not-so-fun diseases. However, hopefully it is a fruit bat that should be very easy to feed. Also, do not let the bat fly off into the night as it might not come back or worse, get mixed up with other wild bats. Maybe the best thing you should do is to go to a wildlife sanctuary or preserve or wherever people who know about bats can take it in. Bats are NOT at all like birds. Do not think that your bat should be allowed to fly loose in your home. Bats are very sensitive to noise and light. They are very easy to scare and injure. Perhaps it is best to let someone who knows more about these animals(like a wildlife expert) keep it and tell whoever gave it to you that if you had wanted a pet for your birthday it should have been something easy that a kid could easily take care of.
you have a point but i have a pet bat and i reasd him from a little dude to a big bat ps he is a vampire bat by the way and i let him go out at night and he comes back....but maybe because we are close......i cryed when they said that i could not bring him ti the move to the us....then thy said that i could if i filled out this form thing and i did so now he is with me in the us i am happy...and fruit bats are easty to feed...
