If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
You know how there's games that you just absolutely can't stand, and think the world would be a better place without? What is it? I was going to add consoles in, but most of the consoles that came out impacted consoles that came after it, so all of them were really necessary in the gaming console evolution.
Okay, here are some of the picks I would choose to axe.
The Donkey Kong series *after* the first DK for SNES. The ones with the girl were just terrible. Granted, I still own it... Somewhere, but we don't always have to cater to female gamers. That's an example of it going wrong. She was hella annoying. Now this doesn't apply to having him in Super Smash Bros, that's a different game entirely.
Siren. Now I know some people are like what? Stop making games up, Brody!! But this game exists. And it is AWFUL. Playstation 2. It was 30 bucks at Fry's. I was like sure this looks like a silent-hillish game, I'll try this out. TERRIBLE. The game controls were awful, the storyline well, from what I saw of it because I still haven't defeated it even though I still have it, WAS AWFUL. This game should just never have been made.
Resident Evil Outbreak. Okay, I loved this game, I won't lie. But on the PS2, the multiplayer was terrible. It should have been out on the ps3. So for THIS game, I'm going to say it shouldn't have existed then, but it should exist now. Plus they could fix some of the wonky things they had in that game. Mix that game type with how the camera's work in new RE games, and bam. Awesome. (The second RE: Outbreak sucked though, no lie)
What about you? I'll keep thinking of examples.

The Halo and Call of Duty series, just to watch the mainstreaming fanboys kill themselves :3

Re: If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
Awhhh but I enjoy a few rounds of Halo >:
Personally I'd get rid of most of the Mario franchise. The original Mario 64. Super Mario world. Mario kart and Mario party were pretty cool!! Then they just started pumping out all this random stuff and putting Mario in it. Like tennis and golf??? Wth guys?

All of the Movie games. Oh no no, I don't me the ones like Godfather and stuff, I mean the cheap gimmicky ones that come tagged along with every movie that gets released.
They need to die in a fire.

All Sonic games made after the Genesis era, Daikatana, Farmville, those educational Mario titles, most casual games involving animal rearing - particularly the numerous clones of the few that aren't completely terrible...
Waaay too many games I'd see eradicated. :D

These:

If you see any around, the responsible thing to do is douse them with petrol and light them immediately.

I mean, I was only 9 years old, went down to the local video game rental store, and "oh, this looks interesting, 'mario's time machine".
Eric was never the same ever again.

I'm gonna go with ET for the Atari 2600, you wont find a worst game anywhere.

The NFL Games because they usually have the same gameplay and I just hate football so yer.

Actually I forgot to mention Animals Crossing for the GC. I never really got into this game it just seemed really pointless to me. I don't know.

Same thoughts here. I was about to say these this morning when I saw the thread but I couldn't since I was using my phone.
But honestly, quoted for truth...Kill these games, and the mainstream society will die as well.
___
Also, Superman 64 anyone?

Some of you are not going to like this but it's for your own good...
Every 3D Sims game - there's nothing more sickening than manufactured cool! >,<
Every Need For Speed game - all style and no substance and it just simply smacks of narcissism.
Every FIFA game - all those updates, and yet still, EA haven't got the game engine right.
Transformers - and many other movie-licenced games!
Burnout Paradise - thanks to EA's interference (and buy-up of Criterion Studios), the Burnout series is ruined! D#
Universal Studios - picking up rubbish in a theme park? Where's the fun in that? O_O
Metal Gear Solid 2 - by no means a bad game but... if I wanted to watch a movie, I'd have brought a movie!

Oh @sev121993:, you have it all wrong though.
Superman 64 is just the 'special needs' child of video games; It's just misunderstood. I think people should give it more credit for trying.
Then, only then, can people grit their teeth and bare through the misery.. maybe.

Re: If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
No, Superman 64 pales in comparison to ET. I rather play nothing but Superman 64 for a week then five minutes of ET.

Re: If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
I've heard stories about e.t, but i can't judge it since I haven't payed it. I will take your word for it.

Re: If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
This is a fantastic idea im way to tired to think about all the bad games i've played but i'll name a few that come off the top of my head
The one I would chose to erase is the entire series of Tom Clancy. (games, not books)
Other notable games:
Rock Band, Halo, TF2, Mobile suit Gundam, any movie based game.

Re: If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest for the SNES
Uber fail.

Re: If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
I'd get rid of WoW. I'm certain we'd have flying cars and world peace if it wasn't for that game.

Re: If you could go back in time and get rid of x game what would it be?
I don't think anyone knows it, but there was a game on Nintendo 64 called Buck Bumble. I try not to remember it. Also, if it were possible I'd get rid of anything with normal maps...I miss my 20-poly-characters that looked like a series triangles.

Holy cow why did I never think of that.... After all these years of basically neglect from my mother since she plays this game any time she isn't working or sleeping. How could I not think of this. Like seriously I got left at a guys house before because I called her to come pick me up when I'm just 2 neighborhoods over. 30minutes later my friends have to be somewhere and she's still not there so I call her and is like "wazzup?" "OH! I forgot!! I'll be right over!" /face..
This game has corrupted so many people ;__;

"Trying"..
The game also seemed incomplete when I played it. The game was just purely terrible and I don't think I could sit around and play it for another five minutes without my eyeballs burning out of my head, so yea that's my pick.
Also the ending,.. ug.

COD should die on the basis that company execs now feel that every game now needs multiplayer to sell good numbers.
Oh, and that mainstream consumers believe multiplayer is needed in every game, then go right back to COD after playing said games, or never buy another game until the next COD.
Unless someone comes up with a really great idea for a Superman game, they should just leave Superman alone altogether.

I agree on those particular 2, but I like NFS games when they're done right. Transformers can be made into a great game, as long it's not based on the movies.
