Favorite Lunch From Middle/High School
Hey, nostalgic question here. What is your favorite lunch from school? This question came up when a friends and I, were talking about how Recruit Training food is worse then Middle and Highschool lunch, lol.
Mines would be... Chicken fingers, with the biscuits, honey mustard sauce, and chocolate milk!

Re: Favorite Lunch From Middle/High School
In Australia we don't have school lunches. Mums usually pack a lunch box. But there was a cafeteria to buy junk food, like chips, donuts, chocolate etc....

And people wonder why more than half of America is obese... I always brought (still do) my own home made sandwiches. So I think that's my favorite.

Re: Favorite Lunch From Middle/High School
Well, for the two years or so that my parents could afford to give me £1.50 a day for lunch at secondary school, it tended to be one of two things;
Battered Sausage & Fries (just a jumbo sausage, battered and fried ... they were awesome)
or
Fish Cakes & Fries.
This was back in the late '90's so everything was uber-cheap. In my third and fourth years of secondary school my parents couldn't afford to give me the money each day for school lunch so I ended up taking a cheese sandwich and a yogurt instead. In my fifth year I had a paper round so I had the money myself to buy my own lunch, but by then a certain Jamie Oliver had made all the schools around here super-tetchy about 'fast food' so stuff like battered sausages and pizza only ever got served like once a month. The school ended up just mostly selling sandwiches and vegetarian curry. Once or twice a week they'd have burgers, so I'd get a turkey burger ... but otherwise I was stuck buying chicken mayo sandwiches or taking my own in.
At college (last two years of high school for you Americans, basically) I just straight-up didn't eat lunch. I instead just tended to randomly take a 20-minute walk with friends to a local chippy and get a chip butty or something. By then the price of school food was so OP that it was cheaper to go get a takeaway at lunch. >_>;

Re: Favorite Lunch From Middle/High School
Well there aren't any school lunch where I came from...... we either buy from the canteen ( which are truly extremely expensive and utterly tasteless foods ) or bring bring our own lunch ( which we always do )
Then we lay some banana leaves on the table and put every food we have such as rice, canned sardines ( Just make sure you bring an opener ) grill fish, hot-dogs, sausages, shrimp chips, sinigang ( If were lucky someone brought some ).... Then it's boodle fight!!! Eating with your hands!!! as fast as you can before you run out of food!! :D.... The Highlight of my every school day.....It's like every day is a camping trip ahahaha:)....Anyone can join in even if you only brought rice ( Then your a life saver!!! Rice is the first one to run out....)

My favorite lunch was "Monday's Mysterious Brown Goop Special."

But seriously, it would have to be the bread pretzels and cheese sauce. OMG, that was good!

I did not know they do that at school too. I only have such kind of feast during important holidays(fiesta), and not normal school days xDD Probably because I grew up in the urban area. xDD

Re: Favorite Lunch From Middle/High School
I don't even remember the food I ate in middle school. I think it was so bad that it has been burned from my memory.
In high school, I had two different lunch experiences. My first high school was a college prep high school that didn't have a cafeteria; we either had to bring our own lunch or go out and get it. I often had to spend more money for lunch than the average high school student, but my lunch break was an hour long. Hellz yeah!!
My second high school was a traditional high school. Most of the food was pretty good (albeit extremely bad for you), but my favorite lunch was the teriyaki chicken sandwich and fries.:)

You can eat junk food, just gotta work it off. I use to eat whole pizzas by myself and then like a quart of strawberry milk afterwards. But I went to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and worked it off. So ;p .. The reason America is fat is because we are all to lazy. Hell, I've seen fat people in the Army.
Marines all the way. Semper Fi!
