I quit vegetarianism for a day... I had a Wagyū steak (grade 12) quickly seared and served rare with a side of La bonnotte potato's and Hop asparagus. I just couldn't refuse this rare opportunity (no pun intended). It wasn't wasn't from Kobe, but that made little to no difference in quality. The potato's were imported from France however. My friend said the Wagyū beef was so good it didn't even require any seasoning or rub. Though I think the chef lightly marinated it in soy sauce, and added a dash of cracked peppercorn melange (rainbow pepper) which enhanced the savoriness and texture, wasn't too salty, and also added a little pungent piquance.
