Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
"A high school student in Tennessee says his principal verbally and physically assaulted him for wearing a shirt in support of a gay-straight alliance at his school.
Chris Sigler wore a homemade t-shirt to school supporting the new GSA. He was told to cover it up, but wore it again the next week. The Advocate’s summary of what happened next:
Principal Maurice Moser came to Sigler’s economic class in the middle of an exam, and demanded that all other students leave the room. Sigler’s sister Jessica refused to leave. Both siblings said Moser grabbed Chris’s arm, shoved him against a wall, and chest-bumped him several times, while asking, “Who’s the big man now?” The attack ended when Sigler’s mother arrived at the school to find Moser leaning over her son, shouting in his face. Moser eventually agreed not to formally suspend Chris, stipulating that the student leave the school grounds for the remainder of the day."

Here, I'll tweak that last bit for you.

You get the idea, I'm sure.
I suppose the best part is where he tries to act like making the kid leave is a gracious gesture. "Well, I won't suspend you- but consider yourself warned, you little something-or-other."

Re: Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
Whatever happened to freedom of speech? It's Tinker vs Des Moines all over again!!
-
Re: Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
So is it okay to wear a shirt that would say "I don't support gay/straight alliances" of some sort, right? Is it acceptable then? Maybe just say you're a homophobe, at least you're not pretending or making up excuses for whatever stuff like that. idk
By the way: Amendment 1

Ah!
See, here now we have more confusion. See, I guessed that you were making funnies when you posted that last response with the two smug tools shaking their heads, and so I responded in kind, with an image whose meaning as a stupid joke would be understood. Yes, Freudian psychoanalysis is crap- as is, I would contend, all of clinical psychology, but I digress- but that wasn't the point.
I see now that you are either simply too committed a jokester for me to have fun with, or you're genuinely nuts.
With that in mind, I feel like the following picture will sum up my rational and emotional response to this little conversation quite succinctly:

You'll be as bad as he is. Anyways I just can't believe this happened, I would have been scared out of my life if my principal did that to me. :x

You're quite annoying, my dear.
I am genuinely nuts, aren't we all?
I could give a fuck less what you think of me, which brings me to this:

Nuts? Bizarre? Perhaps. But I understand the value of pragmatism and expediency within a society. Your statements seem not to. (Generally, "Let's kill everyone," is counterproductive at best.)
And yet, if you truly cared not for my opinion or effect, would you not cease to engage me in this textual spar?
The continuation of this dialogue implies that somehow, someway, you care. Perhaps you only wish to have the last word or sate your ego (I use "ego" here in the informal sense, before you get any ideas), but in some way you do care.
Which, of course, leads me to believe that you present an empty, angsty front. I won't yet speculate why, though; need to keep a little something for later, you know?
What makes this better? I admit, your image sports a more condescending man as opposed to my image's apparently befuddled expression, but then again my "Seriously?" picture features proper grammar and the same man as in my avatar.
By the way, if the point is the butchered grammar, then the best course would actually be to revert to the old snowy owl with the "SRSLY?" text, or maybe the more affluent version with the monacle and the top hat.
Anyway, use Nick Nolte next time. He never fails to give the right face for a "SRSLY?" picture.

Also, we could get him dressed up as a convincing Bigfoot with little effort, and maybe even without any makeup.

Re: Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
Interesting story. That principle sounds like a jerk, since he would physically grab a student and throw him against a wall over wearing a shirt that isn't bad at all. Since he went that far, if I was the student, I would have kicked the principal right in the balls, and say, "F you, my shirt is appropriate!"

I wouldn't think so. I didn't me spam him with hat mail and what not I meant. I meant (I agree that's not what I said though) tell him what he did was wrong. XD In a less than nice way. I am a vengeful person so I would doubt that what seems right in my head is probably malicious. XD But none the less I would agree what he did was terrible. And I take a neutral stand on this kind of thing.

If I was that kid, I'd wear the damn shirt everyday.

Re: Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
I'd say that principal was a homophobe.. -_-

Sounds like a sucky principal.

Re: Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
I doubt it would have esculated that far in one day with/without provoking.. There is clearly more to the story than is written there. Yes, the princable(o____o) defenitly went to far.. But why? I doubt just walking in with the shirt would cause such a reaction..

Re: Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
That is just, awful, I would have probably called the law on this man. That is a punch at a persons first amendment rights, and is completely wrong. If the man has a problem with the kids shirt, he should have kept it to himself. but of course, many of people in todays society can not accept people who have different preferences than them... T_T
As much as the christian philosophies have people tangled up, many do need to realize that this country has freedom of expression, and all that jazz. I am a christian, but I support the GSA.

I would have decked the f**ker and walked out. Simple. The kid was standing up for what he believes in for God's sake.

Okay okay, I didn't mean to condemn all Southern states, but it's kinda expected for them to be more conservative, and I mean a lot more conservative, than the rest of the country.

Re: Student verbally assaulted for wearing gay/straight alliance t-shirt
Stupid kid really deserved to be put in his place. If the principal yelled "Who's the big man now?", I'd say there was some prior stuff happening between the dickhead student and the principal (other than the lame t-shirt quarrel), only the dickhead student threw the "He a homophobe!" defence manouver, to cause major distraction.
