Ever think something really dumb when you were a kid? (Or just younger)

Just randomly thought of something random and thought it would make a fun topic.


When you were a kid, did you ever think something really stupid that now you feel dumb for?


For me, in the late 90s, 97-99, I would have been 10-12, somewhere around there. I didn't watch the news yet, but I remember the weather was crazy, and as I would hear bits of the weather forecast, and I just kept hearing:


"El Nino is really wreaking havoc on the weather."
"El Nino is creating a lot of problems"
"I hope El Nino goes away soon, so this weather can go back to normal."


... ... ... ... ... ....


....


I had in my mind, that somewhere, there was an evil scientist named El Nino that was controlling the weather somewhow....


....


As embarrassing as that was to share, if someone gets a chuckle out of it, it was worth it. Anyone else have a story like that? Something they didn't understand as a kid.

Can’t think of anything.

I thought I could cross an icy pond by throwing a large rock ahead of me to test the ice.

I almost made it.

When I was little I thought every song on the radio was being played live every single time it aired.

Ooh, that's interesting. Now that you mention it, I remember pulling in the drive way when my favorite song came on, and I ran inside to turn VH1 on (Early 90s when there was still music there) thinking that the radio was the sound from VH1... Also, later in my moms fan, she had the back seats out one day, and me and my brother were back there, and the same song came on, and at the trunk, there were speakers on the door, and you could see the screws. My brother looked at me and said "If you unscrew those, you can see the video back there!" ... I was only 4-5 for these ones.

I wasn't too young, but a few things I though were dumb.

1. Skrillex haircut
2. Guys with super tight skinny jeans
3. Blasting music from your car stereo

I'm sure there are a few more things, but I can't think of any others at the moment.
