I know how its supposed to be like the best action anime, But at the moment i:m watching like seven anime (I need to finish one series before I start another...), But at one point should I watch/read it? I read the first two or three volumes and it just didnt grip me, but alot of manga I tried reading a year ago I like now, so should I? What is your opinion?
No, just a bunch of guys screaming. Also, the battles are ridiculously predictable. Not worth your time.

If you really like some action based anime, then yeah you should definitely watch it. Otherwise you shouldn't. It's like people say before, its mostly screaming and powering up. I still thought it was pretty amazing when I watched it, which was like 8 years ago.
Yeah, but they cheat you in the fighting. At first it's awesome. Then they go super saiyan and their this ball of glowing ball and fight. I want to see the action not glowing balls fighting and knocking each other.Quote:

Yes, watch it, if only to be able to say that you have. It's not the most elaborate, convincing, best animated or best anything else, but it's its own beast. A lot of DB is light humor and quests, though, so if that doesn't grab ya, jump straight into DBZ, maybe after reading a quick summary of DB somewhere so you don't miss the big points.
I'd agree that if you are going to watch it, Skip to Dragonball Z OR watch Dragonball Kai as its being release / ongoing at the moment.
I use to love Dragonball and the others when I was around 16 but that was before I'd really got deep in to anime. There are many more out there which are much better overall than the Dragonball series.

Personally, I like Yu Yu Hakusho a lot more. And when I was watching it was on Toonami and both were airing. I find Yu Yu Hakusho more convincing and a way better introductory anime.Quote:

But now, when I think of it, it's plot was indeed really lame as there were too many loopholes. The long dull dialouge was a nightmare, and most of the time the story was really slow paced. The only good thing about it was the flashy and insanely wild fighting scenes. Very wild imaginary at that time I have to say...
You should watch dragonball, cause it wasn't bad. You should watch DBZ, as sigma says, just to say you've watched it (It's like liking fantasy books and not having read 'the lord of the rings' :p ).
And you shouldn't watch DB GT because it's not made by the author of DB and DBZ (akira toriyama) , so it doesn't count in my opinion (besides the fact that it's so bad I was gagging)
Anyway, in the end it's up to you ;)
I say you should pick one anime and finish it before trying to watch DBZ, but ya when you finish dbz is great I have all of the manga and the anime and its very good and interesting.
