Favorite/Least Fave "Ji"?

Thought this would be fun to talk about.
Whenever you're writing/typing by hand, do you ever come across a hiragana or katakana or kanji you particularly hate? Or particularly love? Either for looks or because you just can't remember that stupid character? XD

I have some in mind...

Hates

と I don't like writing it and think it's a stupid hiragana. XD I dunno why...but I had a friend who felt the same because she was all "To's a stupid hiragana!!" lulz

Those because not only are they a pain in the posterior to write but they look ridiculously big and bulky...blah.

Oh, and I really have a deep loathing for 嘘 because I can never remember how to write it haha. :p

Oddly, I seem to like any kanji that have the radicals: 木水金糸穴火禾米 and the grass radical. I don't know...I just like how they look. lol

ふ it's a pain to write slowly and if I write it fast it doesn't look like fu anymore...
I'm fine with most Kanji...

Oh yeah stupid "fu" haha I don't like that one either. XD

My かs always look retarded, though no one's ever called me out on it. I like ゆ though, because it looks like a fish.

I have a special dislike for any kanji with the road... radical thing, like 道 or 選 or such, mostly because I always proportion them wrong. I like ones that have the 糸 radical, because I perfected writing it when I took Chinese that one semester...

Other than that... I'll get back to you when I have more than an hour anda half of sleep.

I like Katakana more than Hiragana. I even learned Katakana before learning Hiragana! XD Yeah, when I first saw the Kana chart, other than asking myself "why the hell do they have two exactly identical scripts?", I thought that Katakana is cool and Hiragana looks lame, and I didn't refuse the urge to learn Katakana! But after I learned Hiragana, I don't think it's lame anymore. I just hate many of its characters that look similar, most notably は/ほ/ま. Also, ふ makes me loathe.

As for Kanji, I like characters like 悪, 竜, 雷, 電話, 忍者/術, because they look cool and they have cool meanings! (But not telephone :P, just looks cool.) I also like 光, 月, 先, 神. Oh, and I also happened to like the kanji 裸!! XD It looks funny and it has a funny meaning, too! It's also funny that I like the honorific prefix 御, and I always use it instead of leaving it as お/ご like the Japanese do. (御金 and 御飯 instead of お金 and ご飯!)

I don't know a lot of kanji. Just a little kanji. But i know hiragana and katakana.

Hates:

ふ　also. Because it's hard to write even though my classmate who went to Japan taught me the new one I still have trouble writing it.

あ when I write it, it doesn't look like what it should.

友達 I'm having a hard time writing these. I don't really use it.

愛　I'm also having a hard time writing these. Especially the top part.

Likes:

Hiragana and katakana except the ones mentioned above.

水　火　風　漫画　Because they're easy to write.

This is one of my favorite to write, actually. =D

I like み but hate ぬ, too curly.

And I love how 糞 and 翼 can look alike just because of how cramped they are. キャプテン糞！

愛 was the first kanji I learned because it was so trendy that it was EVERYWHERE!! (on shirts, socks, jewelry, etc) lol

...Actually I don't know what they had us do in class. I memorized the kana 5 years before I ever took Japanese, and I just did katakana first since they looked easier (and I was 13)... >.>

Nope. There was a discussion about this a long time ago and I was one of only two who responded saying they learned katakana first.

I can see why hiragana should be learned first in formal teaching because it is the "standard" Japanese text, as opposed to katakana which is used for loanwords or to italicise Japanese words. But katakana mastery is helpful in quite a few situations such as reading and converting foreigner names and places and the like.

あたしにとって、違います．

Our sensei made us learn hiragana first. We had no choice in the matter. XD

As for me I began with hiragana! It seems more simple to me ;) Though I had problems with writing "fu", "ya" and "ka" :D And in katakana I couldn't see any difference between ソ, ン, シ, and ッ for a very long time :banghead:

Well, my first kanji was 団 . 'Cause I like Roketto-dan from pokemon anime ;) I really love writing kanji, especially the ones with 米, 糸, 言, 長, 耳, 悪 and 金 .

I had some difficulties with "女" and the "water" radicals at first.

P.S. I also love writing 万歳, cool word :laugh:

My memories are a bit fuzzy now, but I'm pretty sure we did hiragana first. And I wouldn't say one's necessarily easier than the other; if anything, katakana is harder (for me) because of all the ones that look really similar. But either way, it's still a whole new writing system, so...
