Re: is this good gamer desktop
No idea bro but I'm pretty sure "desktop" is a wrong word
Re: is this good gamer desktop
why my computer is a desktop
Re: is this good gamer desktop
Well, technically your computer is a workstation, while desktops are more PCs you find in offices. They do look alike though, the difference is just performance.
Anyway, you have an Intel i7 2.67Ghz (I presume the i7-920) with over 8GB of RAM, a Geforce GTX 260 with 1.8GB of RAM and at least a 1TB hard disk drive. I'd say your PC is a fairly good gaming rig, a bit old, but still good.
Re: is this good gamer desktop
Really depends on what you want to play, but should work fine.

Overall it's a great gaming rig. I would only recommend a GPU upgrade. But because it's Alienware most of the included hardware is going to be less durable than what you would have bought if you built that PC yourself.
Re: is this good gamer desktop
@romeocute Depends on what's your definition of gaming. If you're aficionado of latest high-end gaming i.e. playing today's hardware taxing games on 1920x1080/1900x1200 min. with all the visual enhancers at high setting, you should take @PhantomPhD advice. If you're the type who "as long as it can play, I don't care how it looks" or into games circa 2008-2010, that setup is quite adequate.
