簡単に読めれば挨拶して貰わないか。

I don't use Google Translate for any of my work. It does, however, provide me great entertainment on occasion. Therefore, some human error will appear - but at least I can guarantee it to be a better match than an imperfect inanimate translation matrix!

I love singing and anime and writing (I have a number of fanfic posted on AO3 and ffnet if you're curious about tracking me down, i'm under the same name) and I have a very long-standing deep love and respect for all things Japanese. The more current pop-culture things tend to be a bit beyond me, but I'm probably about 7 months or so behind the curve ^_~*

I've been studying Japanese - on my own, through software, and through every university course available to me - for the past fourteen years. I've also visited several cities in Japan and spoke only a handful of English phrases the entire time I was there. I have a solid command of Japanese, though there will naturally be things I have to look up. To be fair, this also happens in English, despite my Degree in English Literature. I haven't taken the JLPT yet, but I have been reliably informed I could easily pass level 3 (if only I practice the relevant Kanji - which is, honestly, simultaneously the best and hardest part of Japanese, imho).

My dream is to become a Librarian and live and work in Japan. Someday soon this will come true, and then I'll have to find a higher dream to aspire towards. Until then, translation practice will be an excellent use of my time. I look forward to working together to share the wonder and beauty of Japanese songs with the whole world!

(You probably already knew this, but the word for 'poem' is the same as the word for 'song' - I think that is just beautiful, and really makes a lot of sense ♥)
