I'm an American veteran and divorced father of one who happens to also be a Muslim, a member of the Naqshbandi sufi tariqa, an otaku and a bronie. I'm a lifelong xenophile but Japanese language and culture hold a special place in my heart. I ordinarily hate dubbing and far prefer watching subbed anime (same goes for movies).
Illness has pretty much destroyed my former life so between searching for a cure and searching for the Graal--which may end up being the same quest--I'm slowly trying to regain some semblance of a normal existence while still indulging my love for foreign languages and, well, the universe and the awesome things in it. Anime has been a Godsend in that regard.
