it tastes like lemon! Except it is sweet!

We grow up learning that this is the way to live, and when we realize the world outside our microcosms is much more expansive than that it spurs curiosity. Or fear, depending. We see yet another cycle here.

Congratulations, you've survived two or so nights of my massive thought-webs. Many would rather have smaller doses. I must commend you humbly.

I find myself waxing and waning between this thought-string that everything we are and everything we do eventually fades away, we become nothing but a memory, and even the memory can not be eternal. Before going TOO deep into these thoughts I'd like to reflect on what it means to not be eternal; it means that there is only a cetain amount of time for us to live the lives we have- and again this brings me back to my views. It's almost a poof that the previous reasoning we have been discussing makes actual sense... Granting that this experience and this reality IS real of course.

But at some point we all have to crystalize our thinking. Surviving and living this life is much different than how we might believe life should be lived. Not because we don't want to be able to live our lives to the fullest- we are just forced into these patterns by our cultures, by the times... [[-->]]

What exactly is truth? There is an area of philosophy called metaphysics where we question the very foundation of this reality we exist in. It questions the meaning and existence of God, whether or not our perceptions are real or if they are just illusions, things like that. On a bare-bones metaphysical level we find our very sensations, our ability to interact with the world in question. Just about the only thing we can know for sure is that we think, as when we try to disprove ourselves we are still here.

Hence congito ergo sum, I think therefore I exist. It becomes a very strange place when viewing the world through this perspective, when you take a step back from the material, carnal forms of the world around us. People's drama become little more than echos in the vast dungeons of cognition, as you realize that these things we experience are not eternal. [[-->]]

But are we even correct in our assumptions and distinctions? It can be called to question just how real ideals really are. We seek proof of our abstractions in motion, logic and reason behind a course of action under the intent of doing 'good'. How can we, though, when we have trouble defining what is right and wrong? Can we only trust our instincts, our subjective perspectives? How can we trust what can't be proven objectively? Some divine will in the equation simplifies it for many, and complicates it for others.

I may not be particularly religious, but I do admit that I am a spiritual being. I can not prove my soul, only feel it in my own sense of reality. Or not. The wonder of existence, am I right? Hahah.

No harm done, all is well.

It becomes some strange cycle when thinking like this, that somehow realizing the possibilities behind human force could be pointed in a good direction. We know the ideals, we doubt their applicability, then we ask our selves how we can move on trying our best to embody them (or perhaps not, some people could care less)- afterward the ideal arises once again and we are forced into the same position. Between an immovable world and an ideal that seems sensible. [[-->]]
