Found a vital flaw with QuiickTopic

I don't know if you guys still use QT for Wolf threads, but I found a vital flaw today. I decided to google my username and discovered that many of the results were past Wolf discussion threads from Quicktopic. So Iw ould sughest either a change in Wolf Talk venue or for any wolves to use codenames, such as possibly going by the names of their characters.

Yeah, but so far it only shows with your username...and just yours.

nevermind, you can find it by putting quicktopic.

To be honest, if people do that, they are just fucking losers though and it runs the game...I hope everyone is honest.

I just found out about this. But so far, this is what I get if I search for my names in QT.

I hope no one resorts to google to look for wolves. That would be dishonest.
I do agree with code name though. It'd be interesting if we actually have code names, though I don't know if we will actually use them.
I search for wolf games from QT just now, and there are lots of people playing wolf games. Chances of players stumbling on the right wolf QT is very slim.

Yeah, you are right. I searched my name (DenjaX quicktopic) and the first result was the quicktopics that I have joined as a wolf and as a host....

Thanks for the find Zombiewolf, I will implement the use of codenames in the future games.

Actually, I think this is a recent screw up by QuickTopic, and to be honest---Only older topics are found.
    Seeee

The problem with the codename idea is that you have to sign in as guest as you can't change your username.

Alright, so I think I found out how it actually finds the the URLs.

The only reason Google finds these is because at the end of the games, people post the QuickTopic links for people to see. QuickTopic "topics" will stay private until someone post it in public. Generally, people can't google content that it sent via PM so links sent via PM stay secured.

From my knowledge, when a link is private, it stays private.

Matter of fact, read this MS thread:

This is from the dude who manahes QT:
Another new QuickTopic feature is coming soon: Site Search for public topics.

People often come to the front page of QuickTopic looking for a particular topic, but can't find it because we have no index of public topics yet. With the upcoming Site Search feature, there will be a Search button on QuickTopic's front page. It will use Google's custom search feature to search for PUBLIC topics on QuickTopic.

Is your topic public? If you've linked it to any public web page, it is. To check for yourself, go to Google and type "site:quicktopic.com" followed by the name of your topic. If your topic is public, it will show up in the results. If it's a private topic, it won't show up. Read more about topic privacy here: http://www.quicktopic.com/private.shtml.

Our new Search feature will simply make it easier for people to find your topic ONLY IF it's a public topic. If your topic is private, it won't be included in the results - it will remain private. As you know, we take your privacy seriously.

If you have a public topic and you'd still like for it to NOT be included in the Site Search results (even though people can find it on Google), or if you have any other questions or comments, please let us know using the Contact link at the bottom of this board's QuickTopic page.

Ah, now I see. If the topic is only public after the game, then it's okay. I don't think we have to use codenames then.
