What I do is ask what movie they like, and T.V. shows, then I recommend them a book. For example: A person likes 24,I recommend Eye of The Storm by Jack Higgins I sometimes base my decision off of what the person read in the past. For example: The person likes Harry Potter,I recommend him Storm Front by Jim Butcher. So far,no one will even try my ways . How do you guys do it?
I start with giving them a good book.
That's a obvious thing to do... But,how do you get them to read books? They like the crappy horror movies like Friday The 13th,but not brilliant novels like Velocity,or Cell. All they care about is porn and blood to get people's attention nowadays.
LOL if they wanted blood, they should read Murder at the Office by Brent Doonan If they wanted porn they should read Nasty girls by Erick S. Gray
Damn good question...:x I kinda do it like Butcher, but I usually tell them that whatever thier fav movie/anime (sometimes tv show, though rarely) is-the book its based off of is about ten times better. 'Cause everyone knows that movies and anime rarely if ever follow the pre-written storylines. Movies especially chop huge chunks out to fit the whole thing into two hours or less. Sometimes it works-sometimes it doesn't. There are some *really* lazy people out there.
I just ask them what they like and give them a really good book and they are hooked for life. That is what happened to me.
I don't think I have ever gotten someone to read but I would ask them what there favorite genre of book is and I would find one that they would like.
I just tell them about a book that I really like, and hope that my enthusiasm is infectious.
blackmaill and usually bribing x3
i usually show them this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuRuwR2JSXI and if that doesn't work strap them to a chair and force them to read all the classics lol!
