Yea they'll more likely turn it into a pile of crap as that is what the mass majority wants to play.

Which is a damned shame

It depends on how many of the original developers are among the ones who make it.
Oh and the last game ended pretty definitively so they would need to pull some crazy stuff to restart it. (It would be interesting to see how they would do it)

The only way I can see this starting up again is that when they're looking out the observatory window instead of it staying green and lush outside it reverts back to the war due to something not quite stopping the war before it ever begun.
