Forum: Table Top Role Play

This forum is for any and all questions or ideas regarding any Table Top Role Play format.

  1. Dragons

Has anyone ever faced off with a dragon in a D&D campaign? How well did it go. Usually all my campaigns have been fairly low level.

  2. What's your alignment?

(Wiki link explaining alignments. I'm sure you can find some quiz online if makes you shout and cry TL;DR.) What is your alignment? I'm somewhere between Chaotic Good and Chaotic Neutral. I don't think law and tradition have any inherent self-value, but favor personal liberties, and don't...

  3. Dnd 3.5 Vs 4.0

Just curious, what do you you all like more DND 3.5 or 4.0? I feel that both have their strong points. But on the flip side 4.0 has way more weak points, in my opinion. It is layed out much like WoW. I already play enoug ( when home) of the game. I don't want it in my DnD as well

  8. MTG: Specific Rules and changes.

n this section, I normally talk about tweaks to individual rules, or a rule that's been added somewhere within the rulebook, or the like. I can't do that today, because everything has changed. To give you an idea, the old rulebook had section 404, "Triggered Abilities," and section 412, "Handling...

  9. Re: Specific MTG cards

  10. New rules and effects for Magic the Gathering.

The in-play zone is now the battlefield. This was the single biggest Oracle change. A lot of cards—no, seriously, a lot of cards—do something when they enter the battlefield, or do something when they leave the battlefield, or enter the battlefield with counters on them, or put a token onto the...

Hey there true Believers! I came across some newer cards while playing some MTG games, and heard through a recent con event that new MTG rules are coming into effect. Some good. Some bad. All in all, here we go. The next series of posts are going to cover all that's possible. The...

  12. Magic The Gathering

Alright! Admit it! WHO plays? I know there are a lot of you out there, and I am very curious to see who and how many there are. I recently had something proposed to me, and I would like to see how possible it might be. Anyone play Magic Online through WOTC?

  22. D20 Modern Campaign Setting: The Infected

Well as I mentioned in my GM ideas thread I'm working on a 28 Days Later 'Viral Zombie' campaign. The primary focus would be on survival, fast zombies, and a somewhat plausible, non-undead zombie plague. As with every campaign I've ever done, especially in D20, I've always tried to change at...

I'm curious...! Over Christmas break, I made a horrifying discovery about my parents. First, let me tell you a little about them. They're nice people in their early sixties. They like shopping, crime dramas, and spending copious amounts of time discussing D&D just so they can work in that...

  26. Confessions of a Wizard!

This whole Dungeon Mastering thing has gone to my head. I’m on a quest to get everyone I know to play D&D. 27. Making D&D Grittier

Disclaimer: While this short post focuses on D&D 3rd ed./3.5 ed. this can easily be applied to other systems. Now I know D&D is the absolute staple RPG. Everyone who has played tabletop has played D&D. The thing is, D&D is a very, very forgiving system often tweaked to the players favor. Now,...
