I decided to make a song in Japanese out of nowhere even though my grammar is horrible. Here's the first line I made: 止まれ、止まれ、息をやめてくれよ。 あなたが息に値するじゃない。 アホバカ。 I think the "するじゃない" part is wrong, along with the "くれよ" part, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

So the goal here is to try to get to 1,000 tips for learning Japanese. I've been learning pretty much alone off and on over the years, and just got serious this year. In this time I've learned a bunch of tips which I'll list now. If you got something make a list and let's see if we can get 1,000...
1) Has anyone seen Oreimo? I noticed Saori has a slang when she talks. Instead of using normal honorifics "chan" or "kun", she uses "shi", like "Kiririn-shi". What does this honorific mean? 2) Saori also uses "de gozaru" behind her sentences. Is it a polite way, rude way, cool way or something...
I know there are several ways to say you love something/someone. Here's the words and phrases I already know (or think I know). 愛 love (passionate) こい love (romantic) 大好き really like / "like like" 愛してる I love you. Are there more ways to say "I love you" or any other words that mean love?
I'm a beginner at Japanese, but I know enough to be confused by the Japanese title of Maria Watches Over Us. The title is Maria-sama ga Miteru, which is supposed to mean something like The Virgin Mary is watching, but I'm confused about the tense of the verb. I think the verb is miru, but then...

I have been doing just what the title says! I think I have hiragana mostly mastered (I always mix up re and wa (I think re is the one with the curl), and ha and ho (I'm pretty sure ha is the one with one line and ho is the one with two), and I can never remember nu, but all others I have down) and...
What would be the difference between "arigatou gozaimasu" and "arigatou gozaimashita"- examples would be helpful, as well! ^^
I am able to tell the difference between the two, but I don't know if there are different times to use them. Like if hiragana is more professional or not? I need some help here.
I'd like to know how to say "I miss you" in Japanese. Like to family, friends, lovers and different ways to say it. ありがとうございました。

So I'm reading Alan Booth's "the Road to Sata" and he mentions that since Disney released the movie Bambi, the Japanese now refer to baby deer as バンビ instead of fawn or doe. Does anyone have any knowledge how accurate this statement is?
I'm trying to start up my independent studies (again) and I thought a good review would be the place to start. So my question is, what festivals/holidays occur during each month of the year, or what does each month symbolise in the Japanese culture?

My brain is hemorrhaging trying to figure out how to properly use は and が. In school, my teacher told me that は is used when you're talking about a non-exclusive subject and が is used when you're specifically talking about one thing or subject. She also mentioned that は is used to introduce a new...
