  3. [Translation Request] I have a cheap sword with some stuff on it.

Just curious as to what it says. It's a cheapass sword, so I wouldn'd be surprised if it said "angry soup" or something. I used Google Translates thing where you take a pic and it translates, and it gave me: " 4-1 Chaku-shinmatsu patriot" and variations thereof. But GT sucks as we all know.

  4. [mod] minimize the repeats, please

I love how everyone is very helpful and eager to spread the 日本語 joy. However, some of the repeating answers have gotten a little annoying. For example, in the gakusei thread, the question was answered with the same answer numerous times. This is not necessary. While it may be good to show off...

"...soushite, kare wa tengoku, kanojo wa chi datta..." Is this how you would say, "... and then he was heaven and she was earth..."? Also, what is the common word for "earth" anyways? I have no clue and I don't think I should rely on a dictionary with too many different words for "earth"...

  9. Yet another in the series of random questions!

I should get my own subforum for this.... XP With the ~なさい form, is there a way to make it negative? For example if I wanted to say something like "Don`t do that" is to say something like "Don`t do that" is that even possible with ~なさい? Is, for example, ないなさい possible? Thanks again.

  23. When words normally written in Hiragana are written in Katakana?

Does anyone know what the point of writing words in Katakana is when the words themselves are commonly written as Hiragana? I see it all the time, with the most common example I think would be kimi (君・キミ).

I'm working on a script, and the episode title is short and simple, but I'm not quite sure what would sound best in English. ある愛のデデデ I think it's that 'Aru Ai' part that gets me. Literally, isn't that something like 'Certain Love'? But 'Dedede of a Certain Love' sounds odd, to say the least....
