Conversation Between Rocketpop and Nodoka LaMei

  1. I used to watch a lot more, but I was kind of forced to read a lot more for some strange visual problem that came up earlier this year and never went away. LCD screens and the like make me feel ill if I look at them too long. When I tried to find out, no one could figure out why; an ophthalmologist said I had 100% perfect eye health in every respect, and my other physical health is totally fine.

But I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, so I should lay off that one. I like reading, and that doesn't hurt my eyes at all, so that I'm able to do that is something to be thankful for, I think.

Now that I think about it, when I bought my first car, a bright-red, manual-transmission Ford Fusion--which I wouldn't trade for any other car in the world, bar none--you're sort of asked in the registration to give it a nickname, and I decided on Tsukasa, so that's what its "official" nickname is. That's probably a lot more embarrassing than I truly realize.
  2. Huh. I did not know that. I haven't read the manga, so I wouldn't know. In fact, the only manga I've ever really read was the Mermaid Melody Pitchi Pitchi Pitch manga. I read it online, and I'm not even finished with it yet. Speaking of Lucky Star, I'm pretty sure that the manga is still going after all this time. Konata is actually my favorite Lucky Star character, with her obsession with anime and manga and all that.
  3. Ah, I'm actually familiar with some of them. Negima, Karin, Lucky Star, DBZ. The Karin manga in particular was superb, and I'm maybe a bit of a sucker for romancy-stuff. Karin herself was a fascinating character, very well-written. Forgive me if you know this already, but while the anime was cool, the manga wasn't finished by the time they were done the anime, so the endings don't match up at all, not even close. The ending to the manga is...well, far more bittersweet, if not downright sad, and it got really deep near the end. The light novels were a lot of fun. Lucky Star had some unforgettable characters, too. Kagami and Tsukasa were always my favorites, their interactions with each other. They made me a fan of both Kari Wahlgren and Michelle Ruff, and I started appreciating dubs a lot more.

I admit I sold my Karin DVD set when it went out-of-print and was a collector's item. Totally kept the manga and novels, though.
  4. Oh boy, prepare for a story....
Well, my top two favorites are Mermaid Melody Pitchi Pitchi Pitch and Negima!? Magister Negi Magi. I also like a bunch of others (most of them I haven't even finished!) like Karin, Lucky Star, Soul Eater, Tokyo Mew Mew, Yu-Gi-Oh, Shakugan no Shana, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Fresh PreCure, and many, many others. I actually started watching Shugo Chara today.... It's pretty cool. I watch a lot of Magical Girl anime for some reason.

I like making lists. Especially long ones, as you can tell from that last paragraph. XD
  5. Well, I have a lot of old favorites in no particular genre, like Lain, or Azumanga Daioh, or Lucky Star, all from when I first started watching it or reading manga at all. Though I kind of like the new stuff, too. I can understand why some people don't like it, but I still enjoyed Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?, Haganai, and I'm watching Kanon and liking that a lot, too. Mostly drama and comedy, with the occasional psychological thriller. Maybe out of habit, I still prefer discs, so I don't typically watch anything until it can be purchased on a disc, also for the studio's sake so they can keep making more. Sort of as a consequence, I've got a lot of disc boxes I haven't even opened yet. You?
  6. I hope we get along, too. ^^

So... What are some of your favorite animes?
  7. Ehehe...Thanks for friending me. I kind of expected you to have way more than 27 friends. I mean, I expected hundreds, but I can't really say why, just a hunch. Maybe it was the surprising cordiality. I know I said it to everyone before, but I hope you and I get along, too.
