The rules are slightly more lax in this thread, so a little socializing is ok so long as you're focusing on whatever the topic at hand is. Blatantly spamming will get you in trouble, so please try to avoid that. Remember; keep it video game- oriented.

I have noticed that in the newer emulations, they've added a few things like you can "grind" against the walls to move just a tiny fraction faster which gets you out of a squeeze pretty good. Sometimes I wonder if it can still be counted a the "real arcade classic" in that case. .-.

Depends on what kind of games you're into. I mean, most pokemon games I can expect to waste spend about a good 300-400 hours of my life on them.

^That outside of RPGs which are down to about 20/25 hours. RPGs used to easily run you 40+ hours. And no, open ended games like FNV don't count since much of the time is spent traveling and exploring.

Only way you'd get me into an FPS is on the computer. Using one joystick for movement and one for aiming is just asanine. Not to mention 99.9% of the people that play only care about their scores and could care less about just having fun. As for fighting games, I enjoy them, but at the same time I totally suck at them.

^ Takes practice. I suck at fighting games as well but I can actually 'hold my own in Brawl' as a friend said. With enough practice, I can actually become competitive. Also, I sort of care about score but I mostly try to have fun. I only care about score to add insult to injury to my adversaries.

Yeah, but how the hell do you pull off a 16+ button combo? I can do basic combos but that's just insane. And that'd be fine depending how it's done. But that's not the only thing that happens. Despite MMOs creating the word noob, FPS have used it the most. Along with some other choice words I can't repeat here.

^ Talent I guess. That or you're a hardcore player. A regular long combo takes practice. An special long combo (such as Akuma's Wrath of the Raging Demon, which is about 24 hits) can be done if you know the correct input/timing.

You see, what I am doing is using my Tasunoko vs. Capcom fightstick (http://gearmedia.ign.com/gear/image/article/106/1063000/tatsunoko-vs-capcom-arcade-fightstick-20100122024339644-000.jpg) and connect my Wii Remote via Bluetooth to my computer, then use a code for it to read it..
I made a blog about it.

But of course, I mostly use it when I play...the obvious, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. =_=

When I get a job, I plan on getting the BlazBlue one for my PS3...when I get a job, that is. >_<

I was cleaning out my storage unit yesterday and I found my old NES along with Bubble Bobble, Othello, and Hot B's Black Bass. I commented, sorta, on the edit but the mod is nothing special. Just new gen. Just a redesign of the levels. I've seen it before in past Mario games. If you're into that sort of thing I suggest checking out romhacking.net.

I wonder, why does the Asian version of Tales of Graces cost 70 USD and the Japanese version costs 100 USD. I mean, I'm pretty sure they are the same game cause I did the same with Sengoku BASARA 3.

Hopefully people take their time on making a translation for the game, just like FFXIII. Better yet, hopefully they port it to America and include Japanese voices. If not, I'll wait until the price drops to import, just like Tales of Vesperia.

Yeah, don't use play asia. They overprice everything. And yeah it does seem to be expensive. Though it still falls under what's considered expensive there compared to here. And japanese amazon has it at $80.

Okay thanks. I'll keep that in mind when I buy an amazon gift card next week. Are there any Japanese imported games that are worth the purchase? Only one I've found so far is Pokemon Green.

No, I tend to to import unless there's a translation patch. But if you don't mind older games and don't mind playing on a PC I suggest Ys Oath in Felghana and Arc of Napishtim. Both have a translation patch.

yeah, the reaction time of the wiimote is relatively low. So shooters aren't the greatest thing to play on it.

PSX is phoey, the base PS3 can play PSX games. It always was able to. PS2 I'm not sure about since that has more to do with hardware and Sony took out the components needed to cut down production costs.

Arc Rise Fantasia isn't a bad game. It took me a while to get into it, mainly because I thought the protagonist was a moron, but I'm a few hours into it now and I am enjoying it. Good turn based RPG with lots of typos and translation errors. Gotta love it.

You see, the trophy system was integrated to the Playstation 3 after the release of LittleBigPlanet, and Soul Caliber IV was released before it. A lot of games after that weren't planning to do that, some actually had updates to integrate it like Uncharted 1, but I guess Namco Bandai didn't felt like it. The Trophy system became and obligation since January 1st, 2009 though.

EDIT: I can still see that you're playing it just not in your Game History as a whole.

That first black ops to MW2 i can agree with but Reach to Halo 3 is a completely different story. The gameplay itself took a giant turn when they decided to change a lot of the well known guns to single shot or less effective versions. There are also a bunch of problems with the armor abilities but i really won't go into detail on that. In short I think Halo 3 was still a better game. Also as i said i do agree with CoD games being mostly the same.

Some naturally come, or some I do them because I really have nothing else to do and I find them fun. I don't really get achievements for the sake of competition.

Actually I have a Wii at my dad's house and my community college has one as well. I play the one at college since there is more people to play with and they have Super Smash Bros. Brawl or better yet, Brawl Minus. To top that my dad has a PS3 and I have some games for that too, which include Uncharted 2 and Super Street Fighter 4. It's not that I hate the PS3 or Wii, I give them credit, they have some good games. But my next gen console preference is the Xbox 360 but I'm still cool with playing the Wii or PS3.

I love all those X's on the Wii. xD That's why you should own all. A PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and a Wii. XD

PC has a lot of X's as well, reason why you should mostly own a PS3 or Xbox 360. But PC is getting a lot of exclusives, which makes up for their multiplat X's.

Mario Party 9. I heard from Kaitou its rumored. I hope they don't make it! The recent failures this title has had are just terrible. The GBA version being the worst.

@Ericgamer1. I did for awhile because of the free demo disc they sometimes gave me
I had to cancel because I didn't really wanna pay for it and I found game review sites such as
Gamespot.com and Ign.com and the tv show back in the day was good for reviews
so pretty much thanks to the internet I get my reviews for me buying games
