Story : Around five years after the story of Dragon Ball ended, comes Dragon Ball Z! You'll play as earth's greatest defender as you encounter bosses such as Raditz, Prince Vegeta, Jeice, and many more known DBZ villains. Basically Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku spans over 3 story sagas. Those sagas are with description..

Saiyan Saga : The first saga of the series. The game starts off with Goku having a reunion with his friends Bulma, Master Roshi and Krillin. Bringing his son along for the ride, this seems like this going to be the day that Goku will remember for years! What confuses me most about the start of the game is the very first mission. What has collecting Master Roshi's books ever had to do with the saiyans?. Oh well, as the story develops, Goku comes face to face with his brother, Raditz which is a saiyan just like Goku! And guess what, he has a tail! With Raditz kidnapping Goku's son gohan, can Goku and former rival Piccolo step up and save goku's son and the future of the world?

Namek Saga : Another confusing saga.. With really bad missions but some memorable villains such as the Ginyu Force. Basically once again you play as Goku, and try to save namek from Frieza's reign.

Frieza Saga : The shortest but possibly the best saga in the game. It isn't confusing nor is it even close to being annoying. Only problem is that Goku in the show doesn't fight Freiza's other three forms, but over looking that is easy. Once you defeat Frieza you beat the game!

Graphics - 6.5/10 : Eh.. not too great. Being the first game of the trilogy I'll let it slide, but the constant graphic glitches and constant bugs doesn't make this game too appealing. The picture located above is probably the best scene in the game and the only one with memorable graphics.

Replay Value - 2.5/10 : Replay Value? You can't even replay the game! Once you defeat Frieza, that's it! Turn the game back on and you'll need to fight him all over again! Really weak performance when it comes to replay value.

My Opinion - 3/10 : Disliked it. I thought the game had bad graphics, lousy controls and you could only move in a straight line, many obvious bugs which makes me wonder if this game was fully completed before they allowed it on shelves, confusing missions that make no sense and weak bad guys. This is a game for only hardcore fans. So if your not a hardcore DBZ fan then don't even bother picking this game up.

I agree. The game sucked so much I didn't even bothered on finishing it....now LoG2, that was a major improvement, it's like they weren't even trying in LoG1.

Are the photos working? I believe I messed up a tad, if so I'll fix em asap. And yea, really bad game! I had to finish it though because I used to review games on another website. It was painful to finish. Btw Eric may you either sticky this or put it in the right section :)?

I remember playing this game when I was 7 years old and being thoroughly amused... though I had to use my imagination. Then, when I played LoG2, I realized all the problems of LoG1.
- Only one playable character
- Text isn't even close to the series
- Because it follows Goku's perspective, huge chunks of the story are missing
- Most of the game is filler (like finding Roshi's magazines, but also what was up with that town, and the Namekian Balls was it?)
- What wasn't filler was all wrong. You fight Frieza in all his stages? And then, when he reaches his final state, that's when you transform?! And that's just the start...
- No world to explore. I don't know if this is an action game or an RPG... but either way, it failed. The action consisted of nothing but punching (no kicking, although I have heard that there's a button for it. Never found it) and throwing cheaply colored hadoukens, metal rods, and whatever the hell that other thing was trying to be at badly designed enemies.
- The music was... actually kinda catchy. I still remember, to this day, the fight music from Nappa/Vegeta and Final Form Frieza.
- Bizarre flying mechanic. I've always somewhat preferred LoG's "fly when you want" style, but it was useless except to get away from enemies.
- What exactly were those ki blasts? The regular blast, the kamehameha, and the solar flare. So why did they look so different? Why the hell was the kamehameha some kind of short range pole?

I loved this game, much more then the second one actually. I find the first 3 sagas of dragon ball z much better for adventure games. I really liked the music and the game play, the flying glitch is pretty cheap though but helped me when I was young to beat some of the harder parts.

I can see where your coming from though, I guess I'm sort of bias because I really love the first 3 sagas and when I was a kid this game seemed amazing.
