Hello, This is Kyle Here reveiwing Final Fantasy XIII.

Gameplay: Final Fantasy XIII's gameplay starts out slow as you can not develop your characters due to the characters not becoming L'cie (For more about L'cie see story), However once characters can begin to develop the real fun begins. Battles is a major part of Final Fantasy XIII as it allows you to get Crystarium points, Rare to common loot, as well as the dreaded boss fights. The battles go as this. Its not like you make your move and the enemy follows... no, but it is fought in Semi real time. Instead of mana you use your active time bars and something called Paragrim Shift to change your job classes.

(Note that this picture is in japanese and the Paragrim Shifts have different names)There is a total of 6 "Job Classes" in Final Fantasy XIII. The jobs are Medic, Commando, Ravager, Sentinal, Synergist, and Saboteur.
Medic- Your basic whitemage. It focuses on healing your party and keeps them from dieing.
Ravager- Your basic blackmage. This Shift focuses on driving up the your chains ultimently causing the enemy to break. In turn weakening your enemys to the point of being able to be sent in mid-air.
Commando- Focuses on high damaging attacks when enemys are staggered but also can send them fly'in as well as keep the stagger gauge at a slow pace allowing the ravagers to finish the monster or human off.
Sentinal- This shift is unlike most other shifts. In this shift you want to be the target. Your basicly the meat head who will take low damage for being attacked and even be able to counter attack.
Synergist- This Shift allows you to produce protective spells to you and your allies.
and Saboteur- A shift that causes bad status ailments to effect your enemies. This slows down the stagger gauge once the effects hit.

Over all for gameplay its a 7.5/10.

Story *SPOILER ALERT dont look if you dont want to spoil the story for ya.*
The story begins with Lightning and Sazh on the purge train after willingly going for various purpases. Lightning egnites an attack on the train as well as Sazh shows he friendly personality toward children. The infamous chocobo chick makes its first appearance here.

Over all story 9.0/10

Characters:
Snow- Your average thick headed hero. He constantly refers himself as a hero but he has many things on his chest such as the death of Hope's mother, Becoming a L'cie, and Sarah, His Girlfriend, becoming a L'cie and becoming a crystal before his eyes. He is strong willed and strong physicly.
Lightning- The Hero of Final Fantasy XIII. She is a cold but cool headed hero and even becoming L'cie didnt effect her emotionally. He Sadistic style eventually becomes more soft and reasonable. She is a mother figure to hope.
Hope- The sensitive and fragile teenager. He eventually becomes stronger emotionally and even going as far as nearly killing Snow! He wants revenge for his mothers death more than anything.
Sazh- A father figure and reasonable man. After his son became a L'cie he would do anything to finish his focus. He becomes enraged at Vanille later in the game for making his son into a L'cie.
Vanille- Everyones favorite happy-go-lucky Final Fantasy Gal. She hides a deep secret and she is dressed in native-like clothing. Her weapon of choice is unique to final fantasy as it is a fishing rod.
Fang- She is tough, yet flirty. Fang is one of your serious and strong willed characters. More people use her in a party due to the fact that she is strong defencively and aggresively.

Over all character development. 9.5/10

This game is recommended to anyone who is a fan of Final Fantasy as well as anyone willing to try something different.

Over all reveiw for Final Fantasy XIII 26/30.
