Sorry about necroing this thread, but I got SC2 a few days ago, and have been playing pretty avidly. Anyone willing to become friends and battle and stuff?

I've long stopped playing. I got into high-ish platinum, but eventually grew tired of all the cheesing. I may return soon though.

Maybe I will try it but to this day Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour is my favorite strategy game and I do not know if any other strategy game could ever take its place.

I was looking at buying Generals Zero Hour 2 days ago, as I loved the original Generals, and most other C&C series.
Starcraft II is pretty fun, altough I haven't gone agianst A.I, Multiplayer or challanges(?) yet, still going on in campaign so I get better at RTS.

If you enjoyed Generals then you should most definitely buy Zero Hour.
Zero Hour is like Generals+. You get 9 new sub factions to play as (Air Force General, Laser General, Tank General ,etc) You get more units to play with. Some of my favorite new units include the King Raptor ( a Raptor with a larger payload and laser defense system) and Laser Avenger (a Humvee that can paint targets and shoot down aircraft with its anti air lasers). Not to mention new upgrades, buildings, challenge mode ( Almost like a second campaign for the players looking for a challenge) as well as an improved user interface and new campaign for each main faction.

Cool, I do not think the game should cost much now anyway. I bought my Zero Hour for 15 bucks at a local store five years ago.

Not really if you were refering to me.
Both of us were godlike there, sadly, he had 1 armour and 3 in attack on his sieges and thors, I had 2 and 2, both of us were holding out and fighting about middle map control.
I resource blocked him all the time, I were able to get 2 more bases, 5 in total.

Hmm, that does seem reasonable enough. TvT does tend to get really slow in some games.

Though at an hour into the game, it's you should have full upgrades on basically everything.

In general, that type of stalemate calls for heavy drop play. Mech armies are sloooowwwwww, that's exploited by using mobile harass units. Since you basically have unlimited resources at that point, you could have gotten a couple of ghost academies and done nuke drops. You can give players the mother of all supply blocks with a well placed nuke, and with 4+ bases, it's virtually impossible to find the red dot in time. Then you basically a-move your mech army into his mech army, and rebuild quicker, and win.

Or be boring and transition into mass battlecruiser.

MC vs IdrA ended up being a big disappointment though some of the earlier games in the tournament were amazing

I started as Protoss since I played as them in Brood War but I switched to Zerg as I preferred its mechanics.
I stopped playing a few months ago since I got tired of the lag due to my crappy internet and my failing laptop but as soon as I finish building my new computer I'm going to go back into it.

Also for those who haven't seen it yet, Blizzard unveiled a new Terran multiplayer unit that might be released for Heart of the Swarm expansion.

Any thoughts on what it might be? The posters on the other forum I participate in suggested a transformer hellion or flamethrower medic.

I've only played it a handful of times, sadly I don't have a computer that can keep up with SCII. I have a friend though that is #1 in the Master class. He got sponsored and has been to several MLG events placing in the top 40 (out of 400 people usually) If I remember right his user tag was WannabeCool or something to that effect. I love the game, just wish I had the time and the means to get better at it.

Correction, he's in Grandmaster League now.

I used to play, and still do from time to time. I just enjoy the campaign more than ranking and playing other players, so that's probably why I don't dive into it much these days.

i love the old starcraft so when they released sc2 on the market i got excited and got a copy of it immediately and so far the game was still as good as the old one still entertaining and its a lot better

Gotta resuscitate this thread. I'm high Plat, but kind of Diamond skill level if I laddered more often. I've beaten my diamond friends several times, and managed to take out a Masters Terran (I'm Toss) in some school tournament, lol. It wasn't even cheese, we both ended on 3 bases, but my micro was better and all my Storms hit, as well as Feedback on his Ghosts.
I can see this being the competitive game I continue to play for a loooong time.

Starcraft II game is such an interesting game, it is one of my favorite game. This game is having the new features with quality sound tracks which attracts the players a lot. You know by playing this game you can improve the creative thinking.
