For one thing there are two identical versions of this song on the site, but nevermind that. (http://www.animelyrics.com/jpop/sakamoto/thegarden.htm) (http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/rahxephon/garden.htm)

If you've ever heard this song you'll know that most of the song is a main English melody sung by Conte. However, during the chorus is a Japanese counter-melody sung by Sakamoto, which is in neither of the versions we have posted. I've never seen physical liner notes for the song, so I don't know if it's included, but I also can't find consistent kanji for it online, with the exception of in the subtitles of the video (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3vxtk_rahxephonthe-garden-of-everything_music) on page that's listed under RahXephon, which also was listed on someone's blog (http://yukix2.blog123.fc2.com/blog-entry-18.html).

Those lyrics are:

I don't know if these are official or not. I also found this version on a Japanese speaker's blog (http://shironyakuronya.blog62.fc2.com/blog-entry-154.html), that they transcribed by ear:

So I listened and did a little search myself.


"歌を 今風にのって" is just bad bad Japanese, lol, so more likely it's "歌おう 今風にのって". I don't think it's simply "歌う" though, since I definitely hear an "o" sound there.

Also, I believe it's "遥か遠い" not "遥か遠く". The last line, though, sounds 99% "渡ってゆける" to me XD.


So what I get from the first counter-melody is something like:

歌おう　今風にのって
遥か遠い　あなたのもとへ
いつか空は　ひとつに繋がる
渡ってゆける　あなたのもとへ


She sings the cm a total of four times. The second and fourth times are just simple repeats of the first. HOWEVER, the third time sounds slightly different. I could be wrong, but it sounds more like:

繋ごう　今風にのって
遥か遠い　あなたのもとへ
いつか空は　ひとつに繋がる
渡ってゆける　あなたのもとへ

So if you think it's indeed "繋ごう" in the beginning, it'll further reinforce the likelihood that it should be "歌おう" for the other three times.
