Has any one here been to a convention? Which ones? How were they?
I ask because I went to a Star Trek convention yesterday. In all honesty, I've seen more people dressed up for anime conventions and the vendors room was pretty scarce. I guess anime attracts a younger crowd, but the older Star Trek fans were willing to spend $1000 on a Kirk banner that would be signed and the owner would get to meet the guy. Someone else bought a picture of all captains with the actors` signature for $1000.
Some guy dressed up as Jar Jar Binks and asked Armin Shimerman if he liked Ayn Rand. That was interesting.
I enjoyed myself and I got a few goodies. I got a signed picture of John de Lancie.
