[Help Needed] Category of this artist and more...

Lately I've been listening to Mia Carruthers (yes, the Mia from MTV's Taking the Stage season 1 and 2). I came across her band she had which she collaborates with her brother called Mia and the Retros.

They had written this song called: "Chasing After Something (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWtLFlGyvtE)" which I like very much. Something new to me.

Where the help I need on: if there is anyone in here who can recommend me an artist/band in the line of music what Mia does? Something that is NOT on mainstream radio. I know Mia's style of music is acoustic genre but the band she has with her brother is alternative rock I think? Correct me on that if I'm wrong. And no, she's not a country singer, so no country for me.

Any help would be appreciated. =)

I already know of them and have a few of their songs.
Mia is more of a coffee house/acoustic (unlabeled) artist, if you catch my drift.
I can't really pin point what genre she belongs to though.
To be honest her voice is very similar to Becky from Late Night Alumni.
I'm sure someone will know.
