i read so much, the genre i pick depends on my mood. if i want to be sad, i read Looking for Alaska. if i want adventure/fantasy, i read The Name of the Wind. if i want to be scared, i read Nightwood. and if i want something old, i read The Great Gatsby.

i guess my favorite genre would be everything...

03-13-2010, 09:51 AM
I'm more of a Stephen King / horror kind of guy. Most of his older writings, such as The Shining, were the best books I ever read.

So yeah. I like being scared by books.

I enjoy horror, fantasy, and historical fiction.

I actually have this crazy goal to read all of Stephan Kings books in my life time. So far I`ve read two, haha. I just need more money to buy things like that.

03-13-2010, 04:45 PM
I'm one of those strange people who like to read young adult novels, for example, Twilight. (not that I actually like that book, just using it as an example)
Idk why, it's just relaxing.

03-13-2010, 05:19 PM
Oh gosh... I don't have just one type of genre I could call a favorite. I read a lot of stuff, from Heinlein to Gabaldon, so I can't pin just one down; but if I'm stuck on a desert island and can choose beforehand, I'd have to say horror. Definitely.

Cyberpunk, in fictional context. In nonfiction, I like anarchist (anarcho-capitalist mostly) literature, though I do need to read much more of it. I rarely get in the mood to read such things though.
