i'm looking at psu's. pretty much everything under 60 bucks is trash. isn't there any company out there that makes a quality, inexpensive product?

You get what you pay for. And wattage can be deceiving. A cheap high watt PSU typically perform worse than an expensive low-watt PSU. I'm currently using a relatively pretty pricey Tagan 500W PSU. I could never get my system to run on a generic 800W PSU.
