Hi I was wondering if I got a PC could I buy and install Macintosh....?
Im using a vaio and I want to get a new computer but to buy a mac with a tower(MAC PRO)you get far less for your money. The imac is a good deal but I hear you need specialist parts when upgrading which are hard to come by cos it has no tower...
Could someone tell me is it possible to install Macintosh(legally) to a windows computer.

No! Mac OS is proprietary software and cannot be installed legally on a PC, because Apple didn't code such an edition.

EDIT: Let me rephrase that. Since Apple started using Intel CPUs for their systems MacOS could be used on a normal computer, but Apple locked it up, so it works only on their own systems. If you wanted to use the OS on a normal computer you would have to unlock it, which is an illegal action.

It's technically possible but probably illegal, depending on local laws (if you have a DMCA-like law where you live -- including United States and the EU -- it is definitely illegal).

Okay thank you both that clears it up for me I really dont wanna break any laws like that and I live under EU laws so I guess i'll just get like an imac or a mac pro.

Thanks to both of you again.

On the other hand, if it's an Intel Mac, you should be able to install Windows to it, though I don't know much about how that dual-boot setup would work. You'd have to do some looking around to find out, too.
Can someone back this up, or am I in err?

Windows is installable on any Mac, for as far as I know. You have Bootcamp for that, which comes free with the whole package (or, you download it for free from Apple).
