Started with a HP a6110n PC.
Put in 2GB of RAM to total 3GB
windows 7 ultimate 64bit
AMD athlon 64 bit 4400+ 2.30GHz
NVIDIA 9800GT 1GB graphics
Two 20'' monitors
1 TB external hard drive

It's pretty weak, but it will play crysis on medium with a couple on high. Fallout 3 and doom 3 are both on high. CoD world at war is also on high.

My workstation is a white box (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_box_%28computer_hardware%29) I built a couple of years ago. It's getting kinda dated, but the specs are:

Athlon 64 X2 5200 @ 2.6 Ghz
3 harddrives @ 0.9 TB total
2 Gb generic ram
GeForce 8600 GT GPU
Cooler Master Centurion 534 Chassis (google (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=coolermaster+centurion+534&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g-sx1&start=0) for pics)
I have two screens, 19" 1280x1024 + 24" 1920x1200
Keyboard is a Logitech UltraX (which is arguably one of the most well designed keyboards you'll ever lay your hands on)

I run Slackware64 13.0 updated to a reasonably recent slackware64-current.

Though I really don't use it to play games. Mostly for coding and web surfing.

Nothing much, but it's the first computer I built myself without knowing much about computers, so yeah...

Intel Core2 Quad @ 2.4Ghz each
4Gigs RAM
GeForce 8800 GT 512MB (Have a generic 1GB card but it ran choppy so I took it out, and the 8800 has dual DVI ports, whereas the 1Gig has a VGI and an RGB)
750GB HDD and a handful of Ext. HDDs that range from 250-350GBs each
22" LCD moniter and a 32" LCD HDTV for extended desktop. (Perfect for watching anime<3)
And... a TV tuner? Lol

"Ooo, look at me! I have a decent computer!"

Psh... I don't roll that way...
My specs:
2.2 GHz x86 Athlon XP
1.00 GB RAM (something like 333MH?)
160GB HD
ATI RadeonHD 4650 512MB

That graphics card is the only thing I'm really proud of... But my main game rig is my old, modded Xbox that I've managed to run PSX games with. Unfortunately I don't like much games...

So I got a few xbox and PSX games along with a game called Freelancer on my PC. Of course, I'm runnin' Windows XP and I hate it. I used to use a Linux distribution until my old Nvidia card melted (literally) and I ended up getting one of those semi-new ATI video cards that doesn't play nice at all with Linux anything... So I don't got much of a choice.

[UPDATED 10 April 2010 TO REFLECT CURRENT CONDITION]

I have an MPC ClientPro 365 that I bought used, and incrementally upgrade as the need arises. This is my everyday computer.
It presently has two hard drives, one at 40 GB and one at 400 GB, the smaller storing all my OSs.
It has PC3200 memory (which should mean 400 MHz, I think), 1.5 GB at present.
It has video on the motherboard, and I think it's Intel of some kind.
3 GHz P4 HT
Monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. are all things I've had for a while and just reused with this tower. I can get up to 1280x1024 pixels on the monitor, and it's a CRT.
Right now, it's set up to boot either Xubuntu 9.10 or one of two versions of Puppy Linux 431, with Windows XP Professional available in a virtual machine.

I have a Compaq nc8430 laptop, also bought used. This is the only laptop I have, and I use it accordingly.
Right now, it's set up to boot only Puppy 431 (and an XFCE derivative of Puppy 431).
1 GB RAM
80 GB HDD
ATI video (some kind, though I have no use for more than the generic driver in the kernel)
Centrino Duo (2 GHz)

I have a Compaq [tower]- again, bought refurbished. I usually use this to (a) test new programs and kludges for Puppy Linux before I commit them to my main tower of my laptop, or (b) to deliberately run old hardware into the ground. I've gone through a hard drive and three CD-ROMs so far, as well as an old video card.
Right now, the only things installed are Windows 2000 Professional and Puppy Linux 431, but it used to have the NT installation I now have on my main tower ( imoved it so I could run a particular peripheral).
256 MB RAM
3.2 GB HDD + 80 GB HDD
Some old NVIDIA card- but, again, I've no real use for it, except there's not on-board video
1.7 GHz (I think it's an old P4)
I use another old CRT monitor I scavenged, with a maximum resolution of 1024x768 pixels.

Dell Optiplex (I don't know which kind, since the numbers got scratched off the case, somehow, prior to finding it)- not bought used, but wholly scavenged straight off the curb! The POST takes a little longer than I'd like (~50 seconds), but it runs perfectly well once it's booting an OS.
This one's not one I use often, since I set it up for my younger brother, but I still say it's mine.
It's running Puppy 431, too, though my brother also has an XFCE variant of Puppy available in the boot menu.
384 MB RAM (originally 256 MB, but I scavenge parts a lot)
2 x 40 GB Seagate hard drives (all kind of crap is spread out all over both- I really should reorganize it)
2.83 GHz P4
It has on-board video.
The monitor for this one is a real clunker: CRT manufactured in '96, maximum resolution of 800x600 pixels. It actually came new with a computer my parents bought in late '96 running Windows 95 (that's where the 2 GB Maxtor hard drive in the Compaq tower came from, too).

I managed to purchase the MPC tower for less than $150 maybe two years ago and the Compaq tower for below $100, and I got the laptop for just shy of $240, all just because they're a little dated and refurbished (used, basically). The cheapskate in me is far more pleased by the savings than the geek in me is displeased by not having whiz-bang machines capable of making the lights flicker when first powered on not because of their power consumption but on account of their sheer awesome.
As a matter of curiosity, I occasionally seek out the cheapest acceptable computers I can find, excluding sellers I don't trust or hardware I can't examine myself prior to purchase. I've found perfectly capable desktops well under fifty dollars this way.

Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66 Ghz.
6 GBs worth of DDR3 RAM.
nVidia GeForce... 220? I forgot, really, it's in the 200 series anyway.
Roughly 2 TBs of space spread out over two internal partitions and one external drive.
Supermulti DVD-Burner and a bunch of card readers.
Running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit, though I'm going to be upgrading to Windows 7 in the near future.

I don't know what kind of computer I'm using currently. It's my boyfriends but I think it's Alienware and it looks impressive?

I was told so many times to be careful, especially with this monitor (Benq looks like a 26" or so) and last week somehow when I got up the chair pushed into the desk and a wheel caught on a cord and I watched this huge, beautiful monitor come crashing down on the floor. LOL (seriously I wanted to die) this monitor weighs like 80 freakin pounds, I could barely get it back up.

Anyway yeah, I shouldn't be allowed to touch computers.

It kicks my old Acer where it hurts, that's for sure

I am too lazy to type out the specifications, so here's a link if you want to know :P

That is not a bad notebook it sounds like it can handle most of what you use it for. My notebook was a bit pricy plus I did not need most of what It came with.

That's about all I know. Didn't build my own PC. Payed for it to be built. My Uncle is the one that did the rest after that, except for the monitor or luxury software. So, consequently, I don't know much.

Right now I'm running on a HP Pavillion dv6700 laptop.
Processor is an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Tech. TL-60 2.00 GHz
Hard drive is about 180 gigs, and I've got 3 gigs of RAM.

It does everything just as I need it, but it lags real bad on certain games. ><
I plan on building one from scratch soon, hopefully a desktop. But this one will do for now :3

Using PS3 as main PC ( It is possible indeed. Watching high-def anime mkvs on Yellow Dog Linux 6.0 ) You know specs probably. But as I am linux guru I can show specs that I have in linux:
CPU: Cell Broadband Engine: Single microprocessor: 3.2 GHz
Microprocessor specs:
1x POWER5 single core, double-threaded, 64-bit, moderately fast, in-order processor + AltiVec extension: speed - about 12 -16 gigaflops ( system runs on it )
8x ( only 6 are available in linux ) Synergistic coprocessors ( SPE ), one core each, single-threaded, fast, multimedia/physics orientated, local memory - 256 kb each: speed - about 20 - 30 ( maybe more ) gigaflops each ( depends on optimization level )
Fast EIB
RAM: 256 DDR3 ( well, it is enough for me )
SWAP: 512 - slow, 256 - fast GPU SWAP
GPU: RSX Nvidia ! .... framebuffer only ( no 2d/3d acceleration ... until someone hacks it again )
HDD: 60 GB
External HDD ( for Anime/Linux staff ): 512 GB
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Ethernet ( well, doesn't surprise much )
BD/DVD/CD drive
PCI 2x channel sound card ( need to play with it )
4 usb ports

Even though P.C. is the source of ultimate gaming, just right now my computer is really strict on research for school, and graphic design (drawing). I don't play a lot of Computer Games, for now its my Xbox is my gaming platform.

But here are the specs:

HP Pavillion Desktop

500 GB HDD -- 2-GB PC2-6400 DDR2 (800 MHz) RAM which is expandable to max 4-GB in 4 DIMM slots, a 320-GB 3G 7200 rpm (300 MB/Sec speed) SATA Hard drive and a 16X DVD Super Multi Drive Dual Layer (8.5 GB) DVD Writer with LightScribe Technology, AMD+ 6000 Chip Processor, 64-Bit OS (Don't know why people hate 64 OS Bit I like it). My HP Pavilion S3560 desktop PC comes with Compaq 19-inch TFT LCD monitor powered by nVIDIA GeForce 7100 Graphics Chipset supporting TurboCache with 128-MB dedicated graphics memory and up to 831-MB total available graphics memory as allocated by Windows Vista.

Hm ? Why hate 64-bit OS ? ( I.e 64-bit kernel ) Some things would be a little bit faster then on 32-bit kernel. Besides 32-bit platform can't run 64-bit applications, while 64-bit platform can run both 32/64-bit applications. So you have larger choices of OSs and applications.
