Help with cosplay props

I am going as Nero from DMC4 to Kumoricon in 10 months (I have time). I have the clothes and i commissioned my friend who makes props better than most pros, to make me a custom Devil Bringer (Nero's right arm). Now I have to make Nero's sword and gun. I have no clue how to make either of them so any help would be appreciated.

personally, i would buy the items you need as some places if you keep looking, they will be of a smaller price! :)
